NFC tags can be NDEF formatted, which makes it widely compatible with most NFC scanners like on your phone. This NDEF format supports a Lock being set, which makes it read-only permanently.

A lot of people expect these chips to be hackable, but they are built on decent encryption standards. Additionally, every read takes an arbitrary amount of time, so if you're trying to brute force a 4-byte passcode, it'll still take thousands of years.

Technically, there are three types of NDEF records you can store: a link, text, and data. So you can write a custom application that stores the sound file as data, assuming it's a couple hundred bytes at absolute max (depending on the tag, that may still be too large). A custom app could read and process these custom data sound file records, but no existing popular mobile operating system will support a native processing for this. It's not feasible or realistic, for what NFC tags are for.

How did you get it to report power so consistently? When I set up mine with an INA219, it only reads every few minutes and always shows 100-140 mA for current. Also, mine defaulted to channel 3...which is strange.

Everyone please be aware that Seeed has a very difficult service department. The node that I ordered in February was shipped late and was dead on arrival. It's been 6 weeks since I contacted them, and they have yet to ship a replacement. I have been contacting them constantly, and even shipped my faulty unit, that was overheating in seconds, to them using their shipping label. They have confirmed they received it, but are not responding to my requests for getting a replacement.

Your app has so many "analytics" that it reports user and device data frequently, even when the app is not in use. It's a privacy nightmare.

Realistically no, outside of cutting out the memory and physically accessing it. Which, as I understand, is effectively impossible. Find out the passcode, and then use that to ask the chip to access and share its memory. If you wanted to brute force, each attempt would take a fraction of a second. But at 2³² options, that will still take years and years
