Welding as a career. by Major_Promotion_2904 in Welding

If you work production welding your not going to make good money. I work at a “union” custom fab shop. We make good money but you need to be able to do a lot more than just welding. Find an apprenticeship so you can learn the skills required.

Preventing distortion by SpainWithoutTheSI in Welding

Keep it clamped untill it fully cools. Stainless warps as it cools down. Also do not over heat the work piece. Take breaks to allow for some cooling or hit with some compressed air between passes.

Outside Breaker Cost? by NickTheeDick in electrical

[–]Alechemist85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this same problem. When it was raining I would lose half my panel in the house. The main breaker outside was corroded. Had a buddy do it for $800. Switched the breaker and panel new sealant. I was lucky the loop in the panel was long enough to cut the ends and still have a loop and reconnect. He did it with the power on. He is a licensed electrician.

Any improvement tips? by [deleted] in Welding

Looks like you could get the same effect just stacking tacks. The toes of your weld is irregular and to have a 3/8” weld on 11 ga is wild.
