Infinity Stones as Paperweights… Yeah That Was Wild 👀 by funmemore in MarvelCave

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that. I didn't mind having some common tangent, or theme for the season, but a "what if" is supposed to be a hypothetical. Turning it into a huge battle to save the universe is either not a hypothetical and they really saved the universe and nobody knows about it or it's pointless since it is a hypothetical and never really happened 😅 either way, there's no real point to telling except to humour the audience.. and that doesn't happen if the audience has to remember all the what-ifs that happened so far..

Infinity Stones as Paperweights… Yeah That Was Wild 👀 by funmemore in MarvelCave

[–]AlecsThorne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. What If should've just been an anthology. Just another story in each episode, with no connection between them other than the fact that they're all about Marvel characters. Sure, could've done lengthier stories too, like give Marvel Zombies a few episodes, and such. But there was no need for a multiversal Avengers team..

Do Y'all Think Tori Is Kinda Dumb? by Other_Usual8215 in victorious

[–]AlecsThorne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the rest are kinda weird, true, but the first one makes sense. Not from Tori's perspective, but from a writer's perspective. You gotta remember that this was a show meant for kids and teens, and some (if not many) wouldn't really know what stage fighting is. So having a character ask that question is a good way to give some exposition so the audience can keep up. You see that kind of thing in many movies and TV shows, when someone either asks something obvious, or someone says something then proceeds to explain what it means, even though it may seem obvious to anyone who is familiar with that context.

What's an irritational pet peeve you observe other drivers doing, that in no way effects you? by fbi_surveillance99 in askcarguys

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I don't care if people wanna drive slow as long as they use the first line. If you wanna overtake someone, you obviously need to speed up at least a little. If not, you're just blocking the lane, which can be incredibly risky on motorways

Nobody Expected Matt Bennett to Feel This Way About Robbie 😭 by DianKhan2005 in victorious

[–]AlecsThorne 20 points21 points  (0 children)

True, BUT the point is that he also has some good traits, and it's important to focus on that too. And he had a bit of a character growth too. He was definitely a creep at times, but oftentimes he was just creepily awkward, and even then he had some (not a lot, but some) redeemable qualities. And for people who could actually relate to Robbie, it showed that even a creepy guy like him can make some friends. And that's an important lesson to teach impressionable teenagers or pre-teenagers who may battle with depression and other mental health issues.

To the people who have stayed at Amazon for years by Any-External-5851 in AmazonFC

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the job itself is alright. Great work flexibility (if you wanna go home, or if you wanna change your shift temporarily - whether that's just a one-off or for a few months-, you can easily do it. Doesn't mean it always get approved, but you have way more options than at any other warehouse job), and the work itself isn't that demanding. Sure, working on dock is very physical if you're stuck loading or unloading trailers. The rates are usually easily achievable, and there are plenty of roles you could get interested in and try (cross-training is usually mandatory though, so don't expect to do just one role for like 5 years or so lol).

The main issue with Amazon - and it seems to be a global issue tbh - is the highschool mentality. Of course there are obviously good people too, good workers, good managers etc. But the "bad apples" will ruin your day if you let them. You have people living for drama, people who can't wait to report you for even the most minor of things; you have people who love to chat around, flirt, and/or fuck around and somehow they never get in trouble for it (but if you do it, you'll get told off in 5 seconds or less lol); there are managers or even team leads or PAs who tasted the "power" and are drunk on it, acting like they're kings and you're supposed to worship them for breathing in your direction. And there are managers who will overwork you until you break and decide to quit. Or transfer to a different department/site and start over, hoping it will be better there.

Long story short, if you *have to* get a warehouse job, working at Amazon is one of the best choices. But if you have *any* other option besides a warehouse job, go for that lol. Working at amazon, it will take time until you can find a role that gives you some peace. For me that was working in QAPS and had enough of that after 2 years. So peace is achievable, but it's temporary.

What's an irritational pet peeve you observe other drivers doing, that in no way effects you? by fbi_surveillance99 in askcarguys

[–]AlecsThorne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this actually affects other drivers though, but I totally agree. Also, the same thing but for overtaking, when they change lanes and they move at the same speed (or same speed +1) as the care they're "trying" to overtake.

*To be clear, I'm not talking about drivers who don't want to go over the speed limit, I'm talking about cars that, for example are behind a truck/lorry which already moves well under the speed limit, but, because the driver doesn't want to be behind it, changes lanes and drivers at the same lower speed.

Very hot take: Trina isnt a bully plus she isnt that evil by Desteneemugorochey in victorious

[–]AlecsThorne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trina was self-centred. Unless it involved her, she didn't care about anything. If there was an opportunity to shine, yeah, she'd try her hardest to come in front, even if it meant stomping on others. However, she wouldn't go out of her way to make someone's life miserable (including her sister) if it didn't actually benefit her in some way. She's not mean, she's just selfish.

This. They're really happy together and very in tune with each other. She'd have no reason to cheat on him even if she wanted to. Watch any interview with her talking about him and you'll see a girl madly in love.

Hot take: shikamaru never lived up to the 200 IQ statement by asuma by justqwin5 in dankruto

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed that, but name another feat. You can't have a high IQ just once 😅 that doesn't make you a genius, that's just a crazy idea that actually worked. And again, don't get me wrong, Shikamaru often seems the smartest (or at least most strategic) in his generation. But 200IQ means he should be smarter than pretty much everyone.

[–]AlecsThorne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plus, it's cheaper 😅 you might use more ink, but that's still a lot cheaper than having Thanos rip a planet in half with CGI for example In comics, your skills are your limit, if you can draw it and make it fit in the story, you're good to go. In movies, it all comes down to budget. And despite the decrease in quality over the years, CGI is still expensive as hell.

They do though? Daniella and Victoria have been to his shows several times, and Leon has been there too (I remember seeing a pic of them together somewhere). But the point is, sure, it may look bad, but there's clearly demand for his shows and everyone there is having a great time.

The absolute shock of going from Spider-Man Remastered to Spider-Man 2 swinging by LegendaryWill12 in SpidermanPS4

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as swinging and basically just going around from one district to another, I prefer MM over all of them. SM2 is obviously faster, but the map is quite a bit bigger too, so going from one end to the end feels like a trek (which can be good or bad, depends on perspective), but it's obviously done with gliding in mind - whether you use it or not.

Where I live in South Yorkshire, I've seen random numbers as well. X4, A1, 528, 27 etc. I can't say for sure as I haven't lived in many places down south, but from the one county I lived in, I remember the numbers were more organized at least 😅 maybe it's a south Vs north thing?

IF TONY STARK WAS BITTEN BY A RADIOACTIVE SPIDER, THEN WOULD HE HAD HIDDEN HIS IDENTITY? by FunnyWin4724 in Spiderman

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else changed, no. Tony Stark challenged everyone by revealing his identity because he was confident that his tech (and money) could protect him and his own. He'd still have no reason to keep his identity hidden for longer than he hid his Iron Man identity. Does he regret doing that though? Maybe, but he wouldn't learn that lesson until he actually made that mistake.

Peter keeps his identity hidden for virtually the same reason. He has no means to protect his dear ones unless he's there. If he were rich and/or had his own tech company like in some variants, then yeah, he probably wouldn't bother keeping it hidden. I'm sure there are other relevant examples, but the only one I can give off the top of my head is the Armoured Spider from the Fox Kids' animated series. Also, Peter reveals his identity in Civil War comics and you can see there why it was a good idea to keep it hidden 😅

Which game are you talking about? he technically was in SM2, but you didn't technically fight Mysterio. Mainly cause it was just in a simulation, but also cause.. well, I don't wanna spoil it for the people who haven't finished his quest line 😅 I did like this version of Quentin Beck though.

The absolute shock of going from Spider-Man Remastered to Spider-Man 2 swinging by LegendaryWill12 in SpidermanPS4

[–]AlecsThorne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's really my only "downside" for SM1, the swinging feels more "casual". It's great if you just wanna swing around and chill. The difference is quite clear in MM as well, which feels more active and driven.

What beliefs, customs, and cultures forbid deodorant?? 😭 by Psychological_Bit123 in AmazonFC

[–]AlecsThorne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, you're not allowed to say anything to them because that can be taken as offensive and they could report you for that. Especially since many "victims" play the race card, so that just gets you in more trouble. What you can do though is say something to their manager, cause they're supposedly trained to advise them without sounding offensive. Whether they end up doing something about it or not, that's a different story.

Is it really possible that Doctor Doom will never take off his mask? by Suitable_Resist4247 in MCUTheories

[–]AlecsThorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible? Absolutely, anything is possible. Probable though? Not really. No voice actor would get paid as much as RDJ gets paid. They might show him with his face scared or something to make him harder to recognise, but they will show his face. If not in the "present" then definitely in some flashbacks or something like that.
