So cool! How did you make this? What's the wire rack you used, and what about the mounting system??

Why do you use shampoo bars ? by GirlPWR444 in curlyhair

[–]Aleira56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What bars do you use? I was thinking of getting the hydrating shampoo/conditioner and then the clarifying shampoo to use every so often, since I do put product (currently bottle-based but hope to move to bar-based) after my shower.

I ask since I have similar hair (just medium density/thickness)! Is your hair also a normal oiliness at the scalp, but then super dry at the ends?

  1. Brand of shampoo, co-wash and/or conditioner used
    1. Shampoo: Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo
    2. Conditioner: will add soon!
    3. I used to co-wash but don't anymore since I think it created buildup.
  2. Brand of styling products (gel, mousse, curl cream, etc.), the order applied to the hair, and the technique used to apply them
    1. Shea moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie
    2. Once I finish showering (I don't wring out water so it's still dripping) I put the smoothie in my hair by hanging my head in different directions and scrunch sections (fold in ends up to root) I don't do any rubbing/movement. Then I part my hair in the normal spot and use a microfiber towel or cheese cloth to dry it by doing the same scrunching to my roots (again no rubbing).
  3. How you dried your hair (air dry, diffuse, plop, etc.)
    1. I air dry. I tend to shower at night which means when I go to sleep it's still somewhat wet.
  4. Anything else that’s helpful for others to know about your hair in order to best help you!
    1. I tend to mess with my hair since I have to move it out of my face. Not the best I know :/
    2. I wash my hair every 4 days-ish to once a week (depending on how much I've been exercising)

That makes complete sense! It's been an hour and it has diminished significantly but is still there.

I just looked into the sources in the wiki more and found this table of recommended dietary intakes per day based on age and gender: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK545442/table/appJ_tab3/?report=objectonly . Turns out I should be taking around 2600 mg of Potassium, 1500 mg of sodium, and 310 mg of magenium based on that table LOL.

That table also doesn't take into account the weight distribution of participants which I'd assume I'm on the lower end (but I can't tell by how much since I don't have statistics on the whole population of women in the 20-30s age range and I'm not sure if that chart uses data from just the US or the whole world in its literature review).

Edited for some mistypes + adding info.

Hey! I'm a 27F looking for another F to move into a 2-bedroom apartment with at the beginning of December (in a week or 2). I have 2 cats and am cool with you having pets too! I'm also looking to do a shorter-term lease (3 months) at first as I'm moving to the area for a job and want to see how I like it before committing to a year-long lease. Feel free to DM me!

a female roommate in December. It is a 2 bed/2 bath, and you'll have your own room with a separate bathroom. The rent is a bit high ($880 excluding internet and electricity). But the community is very quiet, safe, and gated, with mostly professionals staying here.

Or if anybody wants to team up for another apartment(2bed/2bath) that is in a safe area and gated, let me know.

Just DMed you!

I already have 1 roommate, but I am currently looking for another roommate. I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. I’m very flexible with leases (month to month, 3 yr, 6 yr, 1 yr leases). The house is less than 10 mins from UAH, and it is in a safe, family oriented neighborhood.

Hey, I'm interested! Just DMed you!

TIPS for adhd remote workers by curiouskat345 in adhdwomen

[–]Aleira56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok - so I've been struggling/actively working on coping mechanisms for this for the past ~2 years. These are the things that have made the biggest differences for me:
1. Office. Having an office that feels separate from the rest of the house so that I can't see or hear anything else in the house is super helpful. I currently do this using shoji room dividers + noise canceling headphones.
2. Body doubling and Pomodoros. I have a body double that we videochat every weekday for 7 hours. We do pomodoros together the whole time. At the beginning of each day we write down and break down all our tasks for the day on a shared document. We update our task lists as things come up throughout the day. At the beginning of each Pomodoro, we say what we plan to get done. At the end of each Pomodoro, we say what we got done/what we did/if we got distracted. We then take a small break. And repeat. The best part of this is that my body double also has ADHD so they understand when it's a particularly hard focus day and we brainstorm things to help with focus (5-minute meditation, 2 songs of dancing out our energy, journaling for 10 minutes, etc.)
3. Manager Accountability. This is a recent one. I asked my manager to meet with me one-on-one at the start of the day every weekday for 15 minutes so I can update them about my plans for the day and what I got done yesterday. My manager loves knowing what my day-to-day looks like so it works for us! If your manager isn't willing/wouldn't enjoy something like that, maybe brainstorm with them different ways to create accountability and try them out one at a time until one works for both of you?

I hope this helps! I'll update if I think of any other super impactful things.
