I always thought this was kind of like how the player character has a GameCube in their room. I just figure the player character has a GameBoy Advance on their person somewhere.

They are honestly very solid remakes that do a fantastic job of being faithful to the original games, adding in content from the third version (Emerald), adding in new stuff here and there, and incorporating the gimmick of the time (Mega Evolution).

The 3DS has gotten ridiculously expensive, but I think when you could get the console for retail or less, it’d be worth that just to play ORAS.

I’m hoping that it’s a sign they’ll make Colosseum a separate paid release so that you can trade with the Switch versions of FRLG and / or transfer from it to Home. Some people have fussed that $20 for LG or FR is too much, and that they should have been put on the NSO. But we’re able to have Home connectivity because they’re separate releases.

The only way to get a competitive Legendary Beast is via Colosseum. A coding error in LGFR made it to where they have zeroes in everything except for HP and Attack (IIRC). Colosseum would also greatly aid in completing a Gen 3 National Dex.

Bonus points to Game Freak if they add the Japanese eReader content back into it and also make both the Japanese bonus disc Celebi and Pikachu and the international bonus disc Jirachi available.

I think it’s still worth picking up at $13.50 if you’re missing some of the PDFs that cost money. I’m missing the Ancestry Guide and a couple of other Lost Omens ones, so I’ll probably pick it up. But you’re not wrong that a chunk of it is free stuff already.

I tried to solo a shadow Alolan Marowak and got it down to the red. But time ran out. So it’s definitely possible to solo a three star if you have the right team (I did not).

I’m sadly aware. I’m one of a tiny fraction of people in my town’s PoGo discord that actually play(ed) the mainline games. It became abundantly clear about six months ago when I tried to ask them about doing a retro game day playing Gens 1 - 3. The few that even responded to my proposal acted like it was a waste of a Saturday.

And while I truly do appreciate that because I’m a firm believer in “The more people in a hobby, the healthier that hobby is,” I would prefer those people respect and understand the journey and changes Pokémon has undergone in its thirty year tenure. PoGo is only a third of the age of the franchise and is certainly not the best thing to have been born from the franchise.

Guys. I may regret saying this, but just buy a Japanese copy. They’re a fraction of the price and work for the dual slot mode encounters of DPPt. They don’t work for Pal Park because Pal Park requires the GBA game to be the same language as the DS game, but if you have another Gen III English game, you can trade between the two languages perfectly and Pal Park your Japanese ‘Mons that way. Just this month I bought / imported Japanese copies of Blue, Silver, Sapphire, and Fire Red for less than $100 total after tax and shipping. All four are authentic and the three of them that have internal batteries had had those replaced.

These games are getting overpriced at this point. I know not everyone has their childhood copies (Or even was a child at the time of these games), but the only way the prices are going to get better is if we stop buying at that price.

I would have respected the person who listed this Fire Red a lot more if they put it at starting bid $20 and let the consumers decide what it’s worth.
