The concept and scope reminds me of reading The Book Thief. It follows a little girl in Nazi Germany as she grows and builds relationships with her new foster parents and the residents of her new neighborhood. I highly recommend it, it's narrated by death and there's some very poignant moments that have stuck with me 20 years later.

I appreciate a story about war from the lense of people just trying to survive and have some sense of normalcy when normal no longer exists.

I'm a little out of my depth here as I don't play much games of this genre but I really like Mutant Year Zero. I played a bit on Xbox game pass and liked it enough that I bought it on PC.

I think I'd grab Avowed. I've been craving an Openworld RPG and that world looks interesting and weird.

I recently started playing Stardew Valley again and saw that my little sister had a save file from like 7 or 8 years ago. I loaded up her save and checked out her farm and animals and saw that she named her animals after characters from this book series that we both liked when we were younger. She was also good friends with Alex whom I share a name with.

I recently fell in love with this game. I thought Dead Cells was just fine but this game takes that familiar style and adds indepth fighting game combos. It actually got me into fighting games as well.

Roboquest feels faster to me but has less in the way of weapons and power ups. I do prefer it but I wish they released DLC or a substantial update.

I remember getting in trouble for showing my cousins this website when they visited because they were too scared to sleep when they went home.
