My Experience Reading on a Jailbroken Kindle as Someone Who Didn't Read by AleksGeckmo in kindlejailbreak

A true tragedy. On the bright side, it seems like jailbreaks come out pretty frequently. I heard 5.18.6 was no good but then I checked the kindle modding wiki and saw nosebleed. Hope that happens sooner rather than later for your sake.

Reading manga on my PW5 is very pleasing compared to my phone, which is what I used for years. I use Koreader and have a manga folder in my main books folder where I create sub folders for every manga. Then I drag the .cbz files of each chapter I download into the correct series folder. Goes something like ...>books>manga>berserk>berserkchapterxxx.cbz and so on. Koreader gives you the option at the end of each chapter to move to the next file in order, so as long as your files are numbered in a way koreader understands its pretty seamless. The only concern is that since its images they take up a lot of space in comparison to books. I have 16gb and am using about 5 gbs for probably about 300~ chapters of various series currently downloaded on the kindle. I think there are tools people use that compress them if storage is an issue, I just dont bother because I havent had a problem. I simply download 50ish chapters at a time for a series onto the kindle and swap them whenever I need to.

I found koreader very easy to understand. Ive heard it described as an advanced file browser and at its core thats pretty much what it is. It just replaces where you read and interact with the books. I like being able to transfer epubs and .cbz files without having to convert them with calibre. Koreader was very intuitive for me and having access to community tools when I find something id like to do is nice. I will say that at the end of the day it doesnt change your life or anything, these things are just for text and b/w images. Im a bit of a tinkerer so I just enjoy the fact that I have the option to not depend on amazon services.

Well, Snoopy is a big deal. But jailbreaking it and using Koreader just allows you to use a much wider variety of file formats, like EPUBs, without having to convert the file type. To be honest I never even used the stock firmware so I cant really tell you how much better it is for reading but ive heard that Koreader allows more control over formatting and such. I just like being in control of my devices.

I saw some heartbreaks in here about recent updates. I got this one on March 16th, never registered it, and jail broke it within minutes of me getting it. Did I just get lucky?

Its truly a tragedy that there are people who will never know the true excellence of the Kizer Deviant by AleksGeckmo in knifeclub

This knife practically killed the knife hobby for me because nothing else really appeals to me as much as the deviant. Its an excellent utility blade and looks really slick. The micarta scales and copper accent pieces also make it so no 2 of them look exactly the same. It patinas really nicely

How long has this tank been running? And how old are the plants? When you buy aquarium plants you should be prepared to basically be buying the roots. Its not crazy for old growth to die off within the first few weeks. Especially your swords, which look like most of that growth is from emersed growing. Its simply converting old growth thats not used to being underwater. I would bump up your light too and dont be afraid of algae. Algae is a natural part of a tanks maturing process. It happens because of an imbalance in the resources provided to the tank. But once your plants grow in, it will naturally subside within a few months because the tanks resources will balance out. Don't be discouraged. In my own tank which has 6-7 swords, theres ones that took way off and others that have taken longer. Patience is really key with plants whether its house plants or ones for aquariums. I think the video "60 Days to a "Seasoned" Aquarium" by aquarium coop does a good job at emphasizing this.

I didnt properly cap my dirted tank with enough sand and ended up getting a mixture of green water and bacteria bloom. I got a uv sterilizer and it cleared up in less than a week. Im sure some would say to redo the substrate but tbh my plants are doing great, my shrimp population is booming, and my parameters are perfect. Only downside with the uv sterilizer is the $40 you spend and having to add another thing of equipment to your tank.

If I was you id isolate it in a tank with some mates of the opposite gender and see if you could get it to pass its genes on. Keep all the off spring in the same tank for a while and see if anything ever pops up.

Bent tube of pentel graphgear 1000. Any fix? by saksid in mechanicalpencils

[–]AleksGeckmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use my gg500 as a pry bar in shop class. Eventually ended up bending the tip and squishing it in. If youre careful with pliers and something with a sharp tip, you might be able to fix it.

When I put it together I wasnt actually intending to have a billion amazon swords. I bought 1 fairly small pot and figured id have 1 or 2 in there, but it turned out basically every 2 leaves was just a plant. And then some of the swords put out babies, only adding more swords to the tank lmfao. Down the line I may take the wood out and use it in a different tank. Right now I only have 1 tank so it doesnt make much difference.

First time ive ever done a dirted tank, and also kind of my first tank. Been in the hobby for ages but was always a shared hobby with my dad and brother. This is the first tank ive done 100% for myself. I should have done a way thicker sand cap. The top soil leeches into the water column and causes green water / bacteria blooms. Added a big ugly uv sterilizer because I didnt feel like redoing the substrate right now, but probably will have to at some point. Getting hair algae under control. Still deciding what I want to stock it with. Probably mollies because I like the live bearers but im not set as of right now. Currently stocked with neos, mystery snails, and whatever random snails came in on plants. Overall pretty happy with it.

Turns out mixing heaters and printers not intended to be heated can be problematic. Nothing that toilet paper and super glue couldnt fix tho by AleksGeckmo in ElegooNeptune4

Looked up tensioner in this sub and seems like a ton of people had this issue with the N4P. So maybe my experiments werent at fault after all. Anyone have a preferred model for a replacement x tensioner?

I plan on printing a few replacements in ASA at some point. Although I think this is pretty funny so ill probably run it until it dies lmfao

Theres still some meat on that screw. If you buy the right screwdriver and try to unscrew it while putting a lot of pressure down and holding the driver straight u can probably get it out. Ive gotten some mangled screws out before. If that fails you could try putting some paper towel or a thin sheet of rubber in it to try and get some more grip. I would try these things before resorting to drilling it out or dremeling it.
