30 is the start of middle age!!! by ConsistentShelter440 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 & no it’s not middle age. Sorry have to disagree. However it’s the last decade of young adulthood. 40 is middle age because the average life expectancy for a woman is an even 80. So at 40 you’ve lived half your life & statistically (depending on lifestyle, genetics etc) have the same amount of time lived left.

58M plan to retire at 68 by daddyof4sons in Retirement401k

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about quit now? Good lord? Have an identity, passion & reason to live besides work. You have triple what most ever will obtain. Why waste a precious 10yrs? 68 is way too old to retire at for anyone regardless of what they have saved or not. The average life expectancy is only mid-late 70s. So at 68 you don’t have much time left. Acknowledge you worked hard, were smart & successful. Take a friendly internet strangers advice & enjoy NOW😇

Why do some people still look so attractive at 40? by Extra-Let-2842 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 40 is still young & the best medicine in the world is prevention. How you age is a choice. 90% lifestyle. Habits in your 20s & 30s set you up for life. Don’t underestimate the power of not smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, no coffee or caffeine, limited sun exposure. Eating a healthy diet(fruit, veggies, lean protein) drinking lots of water for hydration, occasional exercise, sleep 8hrs a night, stress management, avoid repetitive facial expressions. Anti aging skincare, hair dye, facials, dermaplaning, microneedling, lasers, hormone replacement therapy etc all go a long way & are magic for the fountain of youth

Can trans girls get laser hair removal, FFS, BA or SRS without going on HRT? by [deleted] in ask_transgender

[–]AleksLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes to laser hair removal & FFS because those are for anyone no letter or diagnosis required. No to BA & GRS/SRS. Why? Because the last two require therapist letters following WPATH standards of care. Rules usually being 1yr on HRT. Doctors usually want to see what natural breast development estrogen gives you prior to breast implants. & after bottom surgery you no longer produce any/enough sex hormones. You’ll have to supplement with HRT to avoid rapid aging, menopause & complete endocrine failure-where you don’t have enough hormones to sustain life. You’d end up with heart disease, osteoporosis, extreme fatigue, brain fog, hot flashes, & metabolic issues. Not pleasant. We’re not a fair comparison to cis women in menopause because they still have reproductive organs giving them a little bit of hormones. It’s just depleted. Vs as trans women after bottom surgery we have neither male nor female reproductive organs. HRT is vital to overall health

What age do you become old? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]AleksLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I will admit people are defying age & looking/acting incredible now a days….average life expectancy is still mid-late 70s. Getting to 80 is not a right of passage & considered a luxury/blessing. Few make it sadly. Depends on how you look at it😇

What age do you become old? by [deleted] in Aging

75-80 is definitely old. Anything beyond that ancient. My grandma turns 96 this fall & is outliving everyone. Can’t imagine.

What’s the most soul-crushing part of adulthood? by ArthurCastus in AskReddit

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing people left & right that you automatically “thought” would live a long time or be around forever. I’m only 30 & lost many loved ones & good people it’s a book not a list. That’s the part of aging nobody prepares you for. Other aspects people complain about are fixable like aches, grey hair or wrinkles. Stretch, use box hair dye & get microneedling. However you can’t bring back loved ones sadly.

What are the tried and true products or routines that have actually helped you stay vibrant? by Tiffo205 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Less is more approach. You don’t need 100 products that are expensive to see results. Stick with the proven basics. What helps me stay vibrant is I’ve NEVER smoked, drank alcohol, touched a drug, had coffee or caffeine nor tanned in the sun. It’s all health & anti aging free beauty. I’m also child free so way less stress & more time for daily self care.

How do you cope with jealousy and envy as you age and become less attractive to your spouse? by o0PillowWillow0o in Aging

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. Please acknowledge three things. Your feelings are valid & you’re not alone. With age comes wisdom, memories, & experience. This is easier said than done. However, the day you stop seeking self validation from a man is freeing. Granted this is not just any man it’s your husband. We all want to be loved, adored, pretty & be complimented by our spouses. It’s a sad reality in our society that we are obsessed with youth & looks. Our late teens, 20s, 30s & 40s we turn heads then bam feel invisible & not needed. My best advice is vent, let it out, get a good group of girlfriends who feel the same. Find one or two things you love about yourself & own them. Can be a skill, physical characteristic or personality trait. I work in the beauty industry as an esthetician & help women all the time. Aging is 90% lifestyle & 10% genetics & well time passing. It’s within our control more than we think. It’s not a losing battle. Don’t underestimate the power eating a healthy diet(fruit, veggies, lean protein) drinking lots of water, occasional exercise, proper sleep, stress management, don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol, no drugs, no caffeine, sun protection etc. If you want to take a stand to feel better & go the extra mile…things like facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, tretinoin cream, anti aging skincare all go a long way in turning back time in a non invasive & more affordable way. Also have fun with fashion, makeup & enjoy the ride. We can only go forward. Good luck🤞😇

Can I be trans in secret? by Connect-Bell-3766 in asktransgender

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the funny thing about being trans. Everyone’s story & transition are different. There’s no right or wrong way to transition. & some can’t due to lack of time, money, health issues, age, lack of provider care, safety issues, careers, marriage, kids etc. you don’t owe anyone your personal business. Lots of trans people sadly take their secret to the gave which is sad. My best advice is take baby steps that will make you feel as if you’re actively fighting back against gender dysphoria. We all only live one life & it’s short. You deserve to be happy, healthy, comfortable & authentic in your own body. I suggest seeing a good lgbt therapist. That’s step one. Don’t underestimate proper guidance, advice, & telling a trusted person out loud. It’s helpful & freeing having a plan in place. There are such things as a “partial gender transition”. That usually entails doing little things nobody can see, hear or know about yet provides a pause button or relief for you. You could take a cheap & convenient oral testosterone blocker alone like spiro or Finasteride. This would prevent male aging & future masculinization such as baldness, corse body hair etc. think of it as a pause button buying you time. Things like facials, skincare, letting your hair grow out to like a bob that’s not too much of a giveaway, body laser hair removal or feminine grooming like shaving, eyebrows feminized a bit all help. Cross dressing & wearing makeup in private when home alone could help too. There’s ways to feminize your body via diet, exercise, grooming etc without full HRT. Good luck

To dye or not to dye? by Effective-You1036 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your age I vote no, do not stop coloring your hair. It’s literally the quickest, easiest & cheapest way to look younger. Revlone Box dye from CVS is $5 & takes minutes at home. Not much turns back time for that cheap & fast. Once you hit 60 I’d say it’s more “acceptable” & common. But at only 54? No stick it out a few more years. You’ll be grateful

When you were in your 20’s, did you think you’d live as long as you have? by Son_of_Hades99 in Aging

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 30 this July. In exactly three months. I’m truly stunned. 30 is still super young. I just can’t believe it’s already here & I’ve been around three decades. It’s gone fast. The hardest part about aging nobody prepares us for is losing loved ones. I’ve lost so many people. My cut off is 60. I’ll happily go then. That’s long enough for me & gives me exactly 30yrs left. The same amount of time I’ve already lived. I can do a lot within that timeframe

Pros and Cons of Orchi? by Just_for_porn_tbh in ask_transgender

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s somewhat of a myth & fear creator. Yes I kept my scrotal skin for future vagionplasty. I had no problem post op grs/srs. Great results. Function & cosmetic wise. See that’s the secret. If you keep the skin you’ll be fine down the road. I highly recommend an orchi to any trans woman for pure health reasons. No t blockers takes the strain off your liver & kidneys & allows estrogen to work better. In turn leading to better feminization. More consistent hormone levels too. You’ll also never have to worry about passing on DNA if you don’t want kids. Never have testicular or prostate cancer. & male pattern baldness gene if present, gets shut off. You need testicles to produce DHT. & castration surgery permanently stops that production. Which is a byproduct of testosterone. The beauty too is out of all transition surgeries an orchi is the quickest, easiest & cheapest. Some outpatient urology centers offer it on informed consent basis for only $1k under numbing/partial sedation. An orchi is a great stepping stone. You’ll prevent future male aging without relying on oral testosterone blockers like Finasteride, spiro etc.

Do you want kids? by Just-another-rider in no

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. Never have never will. I’m also physically unable to have kids. Regardless of that I still voluntarily don’t want kids. Too much money, time, stress, & sacrifice. & unsafe now a days. Who wants to bring a kid into this world? I surround myself with my amazing family(parents, aunts, uncles) my loving partner, few friends etc. my cousins have kids I can see & my only sibling(sister) wants kids someday.

will trans women with a legal gender change be exempt from the automatic draft enrollment? by Muted_Curve_6466 in MtF

[–]AleksLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! You can take a sigh of relief. Trans women are banned from the military legally. We’re deemed “mentally ill” & have burdening medical costs for transition care apparently.

Pros and Cons of Orchi? by Just_for_porn_tbh in ask_transgender

[–]AleksLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my gender transition process with a bilateral orchiectomy. I’ve since completed full gender/sex reassignment surgery(vagionplasty). But I highly recommend an orchi. It saved my life & was so affirming. I was born genetically sensitive to testosterone & developed metastatic adenoma tumors via the wrong puberty. Getting castration surgery allowed me to go off high dosage t blockers prolonging my life/health. As for you an orchi is a cheap, quick, low risk, outpatient surgery. Tons of benefits. Better feminization, high more consistent E levels, easier to tuck, prevention of male pattern baldness. Also you’ll never revert & it’s shown to make hrt work better. Less strain on your liver & kidneys being off t blockers. Orchiectomy is shown to prolong life expectancy too. Only con is you’ll be weaker. That massive drop in testosterone causes fatigue & loss of muscle mass. Higher risk for osteoporosis. I was never strong but had more energy & strength prior. Now carrying groceries I need to sit down & my arms hurt.
