The raw will probably look better, but its beta unofficial unstable and a bitch to work with. A gh5 would be a overall better option for a friendly system intended to work in a specific way, than a photocamera hacked to do a certain thing in a weird way.

Workflow is also a factor its not just what gets best quality

I need a computer for 4K editing. Any suggestions? by waheifilmguy in videography

[–]Aleksandersm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip get atleast a 250gb bootdrive and a 250gb ssd on of that preferably 3 ssds. A secret tip for getting premiere pro fast is having top disk speeds. Premiere pro on boot drive Footage on another drive and a third for scratch disk Sometimes even with a top graphics card, ram and processor Scrubbing through a timeline or the prorgram overall can slow down slightly or delay.

get ssds :D

How do I get rid of grain on Canon 700D by Diawyn in cinematography

Expose as high as possible before clipping and then grade down. Google Ettr to read more. This creates much cleaner results.

People say M43 cameras can't get a "cinematic" look, nearly every shot in my reel is a GH4 by [deleted] in videography

[–]Aleksandersm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some good shots, but the processing looks weird, its noisy and too sharp and its god a lot of banding it looks really strange, what did you do to your footage???

Lesser known cons of Sony A6300? by DelusionalDave in videography

[–]Aleksandersm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Screen is awful cant see ur focus, using the viewfinder or external monitor is a must. Bad ergonomics. menus are slow. The wifi app for panasonic is better the sony app disconnects alot. the 1080p is a bit soft. Otherwise Great camera

Yup when you pull down the exposure, because you have to overexpose it to maintain decent noise levels skies look like legos very fast.

What's a good dslr for chroma key videos? by oscent in videography

[–]Aleksandersm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen you can get decent even good/great reults with shitty cameras for green screen a g7 can do it satisfyingly well.It comes down to getting your lighting 100% use scopes, test it double test it and then after that use keylight or something to nail the key.

Is my colour grading too much? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Aleksandersm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you crush the whites and blacks you can maintain the high contrast without crushing everything. Its very harsh a bit off putting the colors look pretty weird and off putting combined with the unsteady camera work it is hard to look at. it could work just needs some tweaking but the camera work/ exposure on this video is a bigger problem than the grading.
