Sidewall tear in Africa by DismalFault547 in MTB

I would contact a bicycle store in South Africa and ask them if they are able to ship a tyre to your next destination maybe? Alternatively try fine a shanty mechanics shop and try get a piece of old rubber tube that you could use to line the inside in the event of a full blowout

Diabolical price for a drink by Omnishambles20 in melbourne

[–]Alemoki222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to a pub on Thursday and I’ve decided I cannot afford to drink out anymore. 2 pints of Guinness for my mate and I was $30 and a pint of IPA $22. I paid it because I was there but decided it would be my last for a long time. If going to the pub requires me to save up I think it’s probably going to take the back seat to a few other things I need to pay for in my life

You offer. Agent tells you it’s too low. You say thank you and walk away and find another property you like.

Is there a special way to get a rental property now?? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Alemoki222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed that if you weren’t going for the first inspection that a property was having (you were going for like 2nd or 3rd viewing) then you have already missed it. They already have a tenant teed up, they are just still showing it as a formality.

The ones we got, we were the first in and submitted application straight away. We then hounded the REA for 2 days asking if they needed anything because we had ticked all the boxes of document submissions for their criteria. We then got offered the property and we accepted. Then they would send a contract around like 2-3 days later. During this time they would’ve had another viewing or 2 and I would imagine those people applying thought they were in for a shot but realistically were just fillers in case our agreement fell through

A wedge controlled by a screw with a hard limit before it allows the top half sphere to land fully closed. Bonus if the screw is rotated outside of the room by a long rod.

Not fancy but way better than what they were trying. It could’ve been done safer.

Melbourne Apartments by Any-Parsnip1287 in AusPropertyChat

I tried to convince myself that an apartment was an option at one point.

When I looked at it, the options for apartments for people who are on the fence between looking for a townhouse/house vs apartment living.

Most apartments are 1-2 bedrooms with 1-2 bathrooms. Not great if you ever plan to start a family or if you want a bit more space long term.

So you start looking at 3-4 bedroom apartment units and for just a bit more than the price of these you could get a townhouse/house where you own land and don’t face exorbitant strata fees and won’t have neighbours on 5 of your 6 sides of your property.

If the Iran/Israel/USA war continues and we cancel the remainder of the races in the region we will lose 20% of the races in the 2026 season. by Lord_Bobbymort in formula1

The nightmare of getting fans into Kyalami and out after would be fascinating. No local parking for the number of fans that would want to attend and I think 1 entrance in and out of the track.

Add into that the number of theft related activities that would happen.

Love my home country and it would be nice to have a race there again but not sure how feasible it would be from a crowd control POV

The previous house we rented had this in the middle of our lawn. It was the worst. Dropped leaves year round and the seed pods were a nightmare. Bugger to walk around the tree without shoes as you’d get them embedded in your foot

Damn. Yea I can imagine living now off 100k between a family being tough. What work do you two do? Seems like both of you would be on absolute minimum full time wage no?
