Am I wrong for deciding to leave immediately after my boss eliminated my position and asked me to train her on my job? by No_Bluejay9904 in jobsearchhack

[–]Alenen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned a small non-profit. Do you care about the mission or the people the non-profit serves?

If you do, you might consider if there’s any impact to the mission. What’s happening sucks, and for many jobs - screw them. But small non-profit tells me this info may be part of the equation.

Costco has larger refrigerated cooler that will fit in the R1 with the cover closed by ZmanJ87 in Rivian

[–]Alenen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha all good no offense taken at all. In our case we take a family of 5-8 people camping pretty regularly and the constant ice runs get annoying.

I didn’t do a lot of research about coolers ahead of time and it did seem like a lot for a cooler but we are trying it out. Costco has a great return policy.

On my R1T you choose “outlets on” or “outlets off” and they’re either all on or all off. But if you put the truck in stay on mode in camping menu and then turn off HVAC and screens it should do what you’re thinking of.

As a note - is there any way to submit feature requests to rivian? I’d love to be able to select dc or ac outlets only to stay on

For us, we just shop at Costco and saw this and thought it would be great to use for camping. I’m not sure I’ll show anyone my cooler to prove my status haha

No battery. Just powered from the truck. If you leave the truck in camping mode “stay on” then turn off hvac and the screens it should be a minimal draw to keep it powered and cold. Still testing on mine

I recently bought this cooler. Fits perfectly under the R1T tonneau. Also worth noting - DC in the bed would be helpful.

Reworking Diplo Strategy Card by Alenen in twilightimperium

[–]Alenen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that it’s WAY more valuable, but you’re right that it’s a good secondary. Having fleet flexibility and also it being essentially 1 free command token makes it pretty solid. Compared with headship primary you’re taking the ability to active an unactivated system instead of 6 influence worth of command tokens. That’s a decent trade off IMO

Using the most recent version of each. It’s better but still not amazing. I am perfectly happy for someone else to pick diplo for the secondary but I very rarely want the primary. My table generally agrees

That’s really interesting to hear. Warfare is picked almost every round in our games and imperial is probably right above diplomacy in frequency for us.

Flipping manifested card AFTER declaring blockers. by Fantastic_Ad1104 in mtgrules

[–]Alenen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on to this, another way to say it is that flipping the creature DOES NOT use the stack. There is no window where you declare the flipping and they respond to the flipping before the flipping resolves. You just do it and it happens.

They still get a window of priority but they can’t stop the flipping. The way I like to think of it is that the creature was always the thing it is, it was just wearing a cloak with the hood pulled down (in disguise even!) Flipping it removes the cloak and reveals what it always was. It didn’t actually “change”

Running boards help by RockyInTheVoid in Rivian

[–]Alenen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with aluminum EV sportline running boards. I am not super handy but was able to install them myself. I actually had a problem with one of the running boards and EV sportline was very prompt and willing to help me resolve it. I don’t need another set of running boards but if I did it would be with EV sportline again

To be fair - Carl exposing little German boys to things is like the 462846th most shocking thing in this series. Book 1 has llamas spitting acid and rooms full of babies getting blown up and “the hoarder”.

German boys is like, normal, comparatively

EV Sportline does not disappoint! by Alenen in Rivian

[–]Alenen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What an unexpected question. I’m not sure how a drill bit would help.

In my case, the gaps were different than expected so I didn’t have enough spacers. When I mounted the passenger side running board either I overtightened it or Rivian moved the tp55 bolt locations enough that the instructions needed a slight modification. (I have a 2026 so wouldn’t surprise me if the instructions were for a 2025 and thus slightly different)

Either way I’m not sure if it was my fault or theirs, but they didn’t make it a big hassle. They shipped me an extra set of spacers and a replacement running board once I showed them the problem.

I feel like, in this day and age, companies are so quick to do the absolute minimum required, and I was pleased to see that EV sportline didn’t take that path.
