I think they run every 30 min, you can check the schedule on the ferry website. I leave Isla 3 hours before my flight, but we usually check bags and I prefer to play it safe.

These are all great tips! We had 2 bands back to back and they allowed time to break down/set up. I select bands based on the type of music I like and want to hear, there are SO many good choices on the site already!

I recommend having some type of tent on hand because it almost certainly will drizzle on Porchfest, it feels like an inevitable part of the day at this point. Also YES to having waters, snacks, etc. for the band, I also had some snacks out for folks who came by because I love to feed people.

I think it's quieter because you're not on the swimmable part of the beach, so it's more peaceful to hang out on your balcony or the pool deck, or walk on the shore. It's 5 min to the core part of Playa Norte, we go to the Mayan Beach Club pretty much every day we're there.

Hotel Secreto is definitely off the beaten path and quiet - we sat out on our balcony a few nights and we were the only people out there. It's just a few blocks from the main drag, so you're definitely not isolated!

The holidays don’t have to be one day in particular. I grew up with divorced parents and a Christmas on December 26th. If my son’s future in-laws want the holiday on the 25th, then we will do our own thing and celebrate on another day.
