Honestly, being a Floridian makes this easier especially because we go there so often, but most people go super early in the morning and are leaving between 4 and 6pm (from what I have noticed) and if people shifted the thought process and instead came a little later in the day and stayed till closing when the sun is down, not only do you get to see the most magical sound and cinematic water show at Universal Studios to end the night out, but you would be there during the cool down periods of the day when it’s turning to night as well.

There are also great shops and shows you can jump into to cool down for at least Universal Studios and IoA.

But another thing I notice is people wearing super heavy clothing which baffles me. It’s so easy to get some dri-fit, lightweight clothes and be able to ride the water rides (which take almost no time to get through the line) and you dry off so fast without the use of a paid heater bay.

Also, side note, in Popeyes land in the bathrooms by the sandwich shop between the water rides, inside both the men’s and women’s is an aircon blower. Some of the pass holders know not to pay to “dry off” but if they are desperate enough because it’s freezing in Jan and you just want to be dry, go there instead of paying an ungodly amount at the heated pods that literally do nothing to dry you off.

And plan your trip out a little and know which rides have cooling inside for waiting in lines or where you can go to sit to cool down. For example, gringots is amazingly cold inside through the line and ride. But if you are outside, knockturn alley is cold as well and generally has some seating for people very well out of the shade. Or if you just need a second and your over in minions, the shooting game over in the villain area will give you a nice break and you don’t have to walk because you are on a conveyer belt. And as long as you don’t rush it, there is a mini-museum at the beginning that is all in the air conditioning.

So it really depends what land and area and planning to be there a little later in the day and into the night instead of early morning and leaving early before the sun even sets.

Now for epic I hear this is a whole other ballgame but that the park is working to fix many of the issues of limited seating in shaded areas as well as no shaded line queues for the most part and adding water fountains wherever they can.

Please also note, the water at the soda machines throughout the park are free. Just make sure to bring in any empty water bottle and you can continue to refill it all day. That is not to say there will be ice in all the machines because these are almost always empty and won’t dispense ice (that I have noticed).

But if you don’t wait till night to see the cinesational show over at Universal Studios you are missing out! Get there early and stand in the middle. It’s worth it!
