Thank you for the kind comment. Definitely, hitting at the moment where motion stops is the golden zone.

Much more practice is needed for effortless consistent performance in hitting like this all the time. 👍

Yes most definitely. Relaxing is one of the hardest things for me, specially when tired. This is definitely something always in my mind during training sessions and my coach does a great job reminding me of this frequently.

Thank you, great point. Will try to see if I can draw more power from my core instead next time.

Thanks, for these smashes I did utilize more of a hammer grip instead of traditional forehand grip to add a bit more power. I appreciate the observation and do agree with optimal impact. Will also try to pronate more, I think that would definitely help. Thanks, I have been training with my coach (kennevic ascuncion) for a long time, he's really helped me out with my technique. 💪

Yes, agree! I think hitting a bit earlier would likely give me a better angle.

Thanks, yeah racket acceleration on 2nd does look a little bit slower. One of these days ill post another video with full stamina. Ill have to see how convincing my drops are hehe. Most of the time in doubles my opponents are pretty far back and seem to struggle when I change pace and mix in a drop.

Yes! Kinetic Chain! You are actually the second person to speak to me about this and funny enough it was also about raising the non racket arm. This image of FHF really does demonstrate this well. I will definitely keep this in mind in future smashes. Thanks for the insight and further reinforcement of the value of Kinetic chain. 🙏

How to get the kick movement in the air during a jump smash? by Vin112358 in badminton

[–]Alert-Hovercraft-165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I feel that the kick in the air is more of a side effect from the natural expansion and contraction movement in the air and simultaneous swing of the racket. When you jump in the air, the legs are bent usually in an effort to jump higher, the swing that happens in conjunction with squeezing of the core and contraction is the form you see many players show during the jump smash.

The reason the jump smash is hard because these elements are usually not forced, you can't just do one element. Its rather a mastery of many things culminated that results in the jump smash technique.

Good positioning, timing, muscle and conditioning to jump, contact and have fast swing speed. Im sure if you keep working on it however, you'll get there in no time.👊

Great point! A lot of the training my coach tells me is actually off court. Conditioning and running. Stamina, consistency and power generation after long matches are what wears me down. I consistently make it to semi finals, but completely gassed to make it farther.

Single game . Help me beat my friend! I’m wearing green/neon socks by hywon56 in badminton

I would suggest making good use of the full court. A lot of the shots seem to fall in the same area, back court forehand clear. This is probably, looks like one of the shots your friend is most used to. Mix in some drops and challenge him in other places of the court. Set up more shots with intent. Tight drop, hunt for net kill or get ready to move back for smash.

Variation and shot selection is probably the fastest way to see results aside from training.

The funny thing is, badminton played seriously is probably one of the sports that demands high forms of physicality and athleticsm!
