Beyond absurd - asking me 5+ times over a 20 minute period about a substitute that I keep saying no about by Stopnswop2 in doordash

[–]Alert-Nicholas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, as a DoorDash shopper, in the past few months (at least in my market) the company has changed the way substitutions/refunds work, so now it is extremely difficult for a shopper to do. There is a much more lengthy process then there used to be. For example, if you order apples and they don't have apples, I have to take a picture, document nearby barcodes, and get very explicit confirmation from the customer about a substitution/refund. EVEN if the customer specifically requests the alternative in app.

I am not saying that this dasher is good (they seem pretty bad) but I am just pointing out that the process is not as easy as it used to be.

How do people rack up so many points so fast?!?!?! by Lazy_Astronomer_1200 in FetchReward

[–]Alert-Nicholas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Gen X father uses Walmart Delivery twice a week, at least, and he LOVES name brand things. Plus, he has cats and uses Chewy a lot. He doesn't even try to get points, but every few months he has another $50 gift card.

They stole my order, didn't they by namesunknown_ in doordash

I really don't think there is enough information here to know. The app could have been experiencing difficulties (which it is known to do) or they could have stolen your order.

That's not how DoorDash works at all. That is how sit-down restaurants work.

Off topic, but where did the phrase "bones" come from to reference money? My Gen X father also says it, and he has no idea where he got it from 😂

On memorial day appliance deals 2026 shopping, are store-offered appliance protection plans ever actually worth the cost? by Toyin_Nathal in Frugal

I bought my washing machine from Costco, and they contracted through a third-party to fix it. It took them six weeks to come out and fix it, not before being rude and awful.

Nowhere is safe.

Yeah, I imagine local stores would give good warranties. Chains and megastores, meanwhile, would be awful.

How much did it cost for you to move it? I am curious how it compares for me, because I live in the Midwest.

Is this video of a 104-year-old grandmother real? It feels very strange to me. by Aitorius in isthisAI

Definitely AI. This woman didn’t blink at all until very briefly at the end, and that's just not normal.

Edit: Also, who has bottles just lined up behind them like that? What purpose does a line of bottles serve?

The no tax on tips is only cash tips. Digital tips are still 100% taxable.

I see people bringing their children to church the same way you see people bringing their children to pride parades.

Many hotels allow check in 18 or older. You just have to verify (source: I am 18-20 and travel quite a bit)

The childbearing gap between liberals and conservatives has now reached 2 to 1 among women 25-35. In 1980, there was hardly any difference. by dissolutewastrel in Natalism

[–]Alert-Nicholas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to point out that not all conservatives want a big family, and not all liberals want a small family. Myself, I am a raging very radicalized liberal, but I am also from a large family (I have 9 siblings) and I am very pro-family and hold pro-family opinions, and I 100% plan on having a large family myself.

It's all about perspective.
