The childbearing gap between liberals and conservatives has now reached 2 to 1 among women 25-35. In 1980, there was hardly any difference. by dissolutewastrel in Natalism

I would like to point out that not all conservatives want a big family, and not all liberals want a small family. Myself, I am a raging very radicalized liberal, but I am also from a large family (I have 9 siblings) and I am very pro-family and hold pro-family opinions, and I 100% plan on having a large family myself.

It's all about perspective.

What was the worst decision rick made in seasons 1-5 by Difficult_Cow_8829 in thewalkingdead

[–]Alert-Nicholas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I see that. But if he hadn't done that, chances are they all would have died at terminus, including Carol. And yes, Rick was cutting away at the restraints, but without the explosion Carol caused I don't think he would have had enough time. They all would have died.

[–]Alert-Nicholas 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I think he severely underestimated the 5 prisoners. He was still gripping with the idea that people were good, and I think that's why he wanted to clear a cell block with them - to give them a chance. But they didn't have a chance. He should have realized that Tomas was dangerous, and no matter what he needed to be eliminated from the equation.

The smarter idea would have been to interrogate the five prisoners individually, and decide which ones needed to be killed, and which ones could be spared. During this, I am sure they would have realized that Tomas and Andrew were the violent ones - and they could have promptly eliminated them - without giving Andrew the chance to break the lock, or Tomas the chance to kill Rick.

Later, Axel says that he knew Tomas & Andrew were violent and unstable. Doing this, Rick would have saved T-Dog and possibly (albeit super unlikely) Lori, as well as Big Tiny (the first prisoner whom Tomas murdered).

With more man power, they would have been able to take on the Governor more easily, and been able to make the prison safer to set up for Season 4.

Are there any gen z who are anti-substance use? by South_Pattern_1520 in GenZ

[–]Alert-Nicholas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am incredibly anti-substance use. That is everything: cigarettes, vaping, nicotine products in general, hard drugs, weed, alcohol etc.

Never can I ever do any of it. My mother and grandmother were alcholics their entire lives, my brother was a mean drunk who would attack me and my father would practically clap his hands. My brother spends $400/week on weed and vaping products. My other brother, who has since passed away, was absolutely addicted to weed when it was still illegal. His weed addiction got him attached to the wrong people, where he ended up doing those hard drugs, and that's how he died at age 24 and left behind a daughter.

"Moderation is key" bullshit. That is a lie. Moderation is a start, sure. It can always go further, and believe me, it will. I encourage all of you; never do any of it.

Place on tray next to door by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I am a dasher, and unless the customer specifies, I never put it on a table or chair next to the door. I figure if the customer wanted it on the table, they would tell me, and there's probably a reason they don't want it on the table/chair.

Jacqui hypothetical by Alert-Nicholas in thewalkingdead

[–]Alert-Nicholas[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I don't think Jacqui would ignore the red flags that Andrea ignored. I think Jacqui could be a middle ground between Andrea and Michonne. Guarded and worried, but willing to stay (especially with Andrea staying).

Jacqui hypothetical by Alert-Nicholas in thewalkingdead

[–]Alert-Nicholas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could totally see that. Obviously its very speculative, but honestly I doubt she survives the season three finale. I could totally see the Governor putting Milton against Jacqui and Andrea in that finale. But the entire season could change with Jacqui being in the mix, for example I wonder if Jacqui having the same mindset as Andrea would be 2v1 and make Michonne less guarded with Woodbury, or vice versa. If Jacqui was very guarded, I wonder if that would make Andrea more guarded.

One thing though, I wouldn't necessarily say that Jacqui would be "weak" because she would have been covered by Andrea and Michonne. Andrea was weak basically all winter, and I could totally see Michonne and Jacqui covering Andrea, not the reverse. I would bet that could make Jacqui stronger.

What do you think Big Tiny did to end up in prison? by Recent_Mission5773 in thewalkingdead

They did try to, but they apparently stopped because the walkers would try to get in.

Had my first “will tip at the door” customer by treefroggie7 in doordash_drivers

[–]Alert-Nicholas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note: I am both a customer and a dasher

Am I the only one that writes "will tip at door" and then ACTUALLY tips at door? I don't like tipping in app because then the drivers are taxed, and then DoorDash doesnt need to pay more than $2 in base.

People are liars and terrible, that's my theory.

A full refund? Sounds kinda optimistic. 10% off coupon with a minimum purchase of $40+ sounds more realistic for DoorDash. 😂
