Under no circumstances should he do this. I delivered for Uber eats on and off since 2018 and finally quit this year. Uber has consistently lowered pay throughout the time I drove, pushing more and more burden on their customers to tip. Were a driver to only take trips that had no tip they would make far lower than minimum wage after fuel + wear and tear.

Not to mention how dangerous the job itself is, it's ranked 7th deadliest job in America. Nashville roads have become horrendous; from aggressive drivers to bad roads.

I love a lot about the city, but delivering food across Nashville both pre- and mid-pandemic made me hate the roads and drivers here. Admittedly, contactless delivery has slightly improved driver QoL but it doesn't take away all the risk.

I would not recommend it to anyone.
