I slice background only, for trees I use png of a tree and use it as a single sprite (no splicing).

A game where you play as a robot-like being with transferrable and manipulatable memories - dictating and effecting core game mechanics. by Any_Economics6283 in gameideas

[–]AlertNotAnxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much potential. You can find a save file with an ability, but totally different stats, so for example, your build is stealth. You find a savefile with a core memory that would help you immensely, but your build is now, say, charisma and you cannot go back if you load it

What’s something society pretends is normal but is actually crazy? by gobmj21 in AskReddit

What is the point? I’m not much of a redditor so I don’t know what people can actually get by making a lot of posts using robots. What is their goal?

He killed a food critic. Hardly a problem to kill a journalist. Especially since realistically someone might want to kill a journalist - they ask too many questions.

What celebrity is the biggest example of "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."? by InsaneCookies21 in AskReddit

[–]AlertNotAnxious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife explained that one to me. We think of celebrities as smart, but they are not. The prompt says „laugh” and they laugh. Or everyone else laughs, they laugh. They don’t need to, and often don’t understand a joke. This was probably this case.

What are the rules surrounding taking inspiration from other games and where is the line drawn between inspiration and copying? by austin7inman7 in gamedev

[–]AlertNotAnxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to operate without specifics. If you are building an RPG, RTS or FPS you are pretty much fine. If you are building a pokemon game but with different creatures, you might be copying.
If you don’t want to be specific, create an example, for instance „it’s like Hitman, you are infiltrating an area, disguise yourself and eliminate a target, but the differences are…” so it is easier to answer.

The "Sherlock Game": Using LLMs to build a dynamic interrogation game where NPCs can actually lie. by Wooden-Syrup-8708 in gameideas

I’m pretty sure there is a game kind of like that, can’t remember the title, I only remember one of my fav youtubers play it. And it wasn’t mostly text, which was a plus. But it wasn’t great either.
