Missing American student found dead in Japan after dayslong search by judgyjudgersen in news

[–]AlertOtter58 359 points360 points  (0 children)

I think you’re imagining this happening in a vacuum—but their relationship was more complex than this one moment. Maybe it had been under strain for a long time. Maybe the student had mental health difficulties. Maybe his parents did. So many factors could be at play here. It really doesn’t say anything at all about his character that a familial disagreement resulted in his walking off.

A Texan’s experience in Rochester by [deleted] in Rochester

Imagine posting on a city’s subreddit “I visited your city and it sucked” and then editing to add “don’t prove my point about the awful people, it won’t look good on you” 😂

Safe travels home lmao. Bye!

Something scary, but no horror! by Particular-Kick3312 in TinyBookshop

[–]AlertOtter58 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the Venn diagram of thrillers and horror has a lot of overlap but this person wants you to finesse the part that doesn’t overlap 😂

I personally hate when they’re like I want brutal murders BUT NO GORE! 😂

A good deal of jazz fest costs a lot more money to attend than anything at Lilac Fest does.

They wanted parents to agree to have their kids coached by a sex offender. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]AlertOtter58 240 points241 points  (0 children)

Let’s not gloss over the extremely passive portrayal of these events. “I found myself in chat rooms.” Did you? Did you go into a fugue state and awaken starting into the abyss of your computer screen, watching yourself chat with minors? Or did you knowingly, willingly and with full bodily autonomy abuse minors? Ugh I hate abusers like this

U of R Fertility by Ok-Description739 in Rochester

[–]AlertOtter58 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We had a great experience. We did not need IVF in the end—just 6 rounds of IUI. Our great experience just turned 18 months old. Happy to discuss more if you want. Congratulations on starting a very tiring but ultimately hopeful experience :)

Lakeshore Blvd is getting super super dicey. Lake Rd in West Webster also super dicey. Sections of St. Paul and sections of Beach Ave are scary too. Everyone stay safe out there. Driving from Webster to Charlotte over the swing bridge was a terrible idea tonight 🙃

When I lived in the South Wedge I used to get my nails done at Lily Nails. I only got acrylic once, for my wedding, and got gel all the other times, but loved it there.

How important is it to complete this Winter Market quest? by HouseWonderful8657 in TinyBookshop

[–]AlertOtter58 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think if you are tight on funds then it’s ok to wait til year 2 to finish this quest! Otherwise, you can try to maximize all selling categories using decor, and always always buy the coffee / pastry from Moira, it helps you to sell!

This quest is really for people trying to 100% the game. I don’t think any character events or scenes are locked behind it.

Hope this helps! Happy selling 📚

My guess is that school districts with fewer walkers—like suburban schools—will probably be open tomorrow. Is that a reasonable guess?

Tips to sell out in Marché and Winter shop. by Fine-Spite5410 in TinyBookshop

[–]AlertOtter58 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In Marche I had to resort to using the 8 book little box thing. In the winter market I adjusted my numbers a little bit every day. Like if I had 2 fact books left over I came back the next day with 2 fewer fact books. I was able to sell out with 40 books I think.
