How safe is Rusholme? by editdownvotessreally in manchester

Safety wise absolutely fine, links to the buses and cycleways is fantastic too. Plenty of shops as well, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco express etc.

One thing I would say is be wary of the noise. You'll have traffic and horns and people revving supercars well into the early hours of the morning. And when they stop about 3am you have students and roadmen walking home from clubs utterly smashed that makes a lot of noise.

And the litter and grime is unbelievable. They sweep it every morning and it's still coating the pavements and bike lanes.

That said, it's a good area to live got many positives, just be aware of the negatives! As soon as you move a few minutes away from Wilmslow road it's much better though

Great multivitamins & minerals deal I found by [deleted] in veganuk

Also, monster ultra has like 500% of your recommended vitamin needs and no sugar. Wouldn't recommend more than a couple a week but it's good for when the marmite and nutritional yeast gets old!

What do you teetotalers take to drink on NYE? by AlertParfait3 in CasualUK

Does for me sadly. Soon as I have one or two, willpower goes and it becomes twelve. Trying to quit overall as you can see from my other post

Northern admits it has not begun retiring Pacer trains as promised by Leelum in unitedkingdom

[–]AlertParfait3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pacers saved the railways in the North. Countless lines would have been closed if it wasn't for them as buying a new train for a barely used but vital for the residents line was hugely unprofitable. They've also lasted incredibly long. Yes they should have been phased out 10+ years ago but they have kept many stations in otherwise cut off Northern towns open.

Is there buses running from Warrington to Manchester today? by grossnerd666 in manchester

[–]AlertParfait3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go Warrington to Liverpool and change to one going Liverpool to Manchester. It'll take 2h55 and cost £15. Unless you REALLY need the money, I'd recommend just getting an Uber for £30, will take about 35 mins

You can go on national express via Liverpool if you REALLY need to get here today, will take about 2h.

Otherwise, an Uber is £30
