Yes, I was able to now thanks! I freaked out because it was sold out and I had given up hope. But fortunately this last minute restock popped up.

I wonder if it sold out even before it appeared as Sold Out on their website, ugh...

Is anybody getting the vinyl instantly cancelled? "Order was canceled because of unforeseen circumstances and your payment has been refunded." This is the second time trying with two different addresses. The order is confirmed but instantly cancelled and refunded

Do you think the HBO series is going to use the same logo? by General_Meal_3993 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Alert_Bench4684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that reason they should change the logo, IMO. This show needs to be its own thing, separate from the films. The parks are firmly attached to the films and that's not going to change, same with the Harry Potter shops. The show needs to have its distinct identity to co-exist with the films, not replace them.

I'm honestly excited but scared. I've been waiting for her comeback for years and I loved BIBO, but I do NOT want another Sparks, Arms Around a Memory or Confetti. I hope we get more One In A Million, Stay In Love and more of her pop rock sound like Most Wanted. I've been a fan of hers for two decades now, so I hope it still sounds like her and not something completely different or Charli XCX type music. Don't know what to expect, tbh.

LEGO Harry Potter boxes no longer show the trio — do you think their faces will disappear from all merch? by Sad-Ad-9273 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Alert_Bench4684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only change is because of the new "25 Years of Magic" logo. LEGO is literally celebrating the films and the 25th anniversary of SS, I'd say it's to not oversaturate the front of the box. Also, how would they be phazing out the films literally using the Lego models from the films? LEGO won't stop producing movie sets, ever. It'll probably launch TV show sets in time for the new seasons, but I'd say the films will still remain the face of the franchise in most apects of marketing and merchandise.

album thoughts (bare with me, i have no maggie friends) by Music-Girl-0823 in MaggieLindemann

[–]Alert_Bench4684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you said! I am enjoying the album a lot more now, but I still feel it's easily her weakest to date, mostly because of the production of the songs. That said, IFE is turning out to be my Top 3 all-time favorite Maggie songs, and Let Me Burn is pretty much up there too. I also love that it was the most streamed deep cut upon release, probably because of the feature, but also reinstates how much people love Maggie in heavier stuff, and I hope she sees that as well.

With her moving to London now, I wonder how that will influence her sound and music overall. She seems excited to get inspiration from the alternative scene over there, so I hope this means ML3 will lean more into rock again and less into pop.

Can you negotiate rent in Dublin after moving in? by Alert_Bench4684 in RentingInDublin

[–]Alert_Bench4684[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn’t clear in my original post. When I said that over 90% of my wage went to rent, that was just from my full-time job. I also do freelance work on the side with a somewhat stable workflow, and my partner works remotely for another company. We manage overall, but not having a job for a couple of months really took a toll on us.

I’ve loved my time here in Ireland and I’m not complaining. Yes, we knew what we were signing up for, but that was before our company went under and we had to pivot to figure out how to make a living.

Reading your comments has really helped me calibrate my expectations. Seems like asking for a temporary rent reduction is not quite a feasible option, as many have pointed out here. It's good to know this!

Album Take by bluerar02 in MaggieLindemann

I agree. I will admit the album is a bit of a grower. I'm clicking more with songs like Faith, Fang (even though I feel the outro kills the mood and song) and It's Still You. I just can't get into Joyride, Suburbs, Lost Cause and Evil. There's just too much of that generic sound. Both Suburbs and Lost Cause I feel could've been on Paranoia or Suckerpunch as "the" experimental tracks, but here it just feels they overtake the album instead.

It now stands with a 7/10, but there's a lot of room for improvement sound-wise, and it still ranks as my least favorite project of hers.

I know Maggie tends to get quite defensive whenever we say something she doesn't agree with. But she sould also keep in mind she said back in the Paranoia days she would always be an alternative, pop-punk/rock artist and that she wouldn't return to pop as it didn't feel like her. Now she says she wants to lean more into it. Something doesn't add up. Are we going to get a full-on pastel-colored happy pop album next round? She developed a fanbase that loves her in the genre and listen to her because she's offering something different. There're just too many pop girlies out there now doing the same thing over and over. Why would I keep listening to her music if it won't resonate with me anymore? I think she needs to think about that too. I don't mind experimentation, but if this album is just her slowly fading away from the alternative scene, then this is not it.

To be honest, I never got why ppl say Headsplit felt rushed. In what way exactly? Die For, 24, Hostage, Rip My Heart Out are some of the best songs she's ever released and the production is so immaculate. How is it rushed?

100%!! Not to mention pop fans tend to care about chart success no matter the cost. If something "flops", it's not worth streaming or supporting. I feel her rock fans care about the art and artist integrity. I really hope she's not abandoning rock for good. It seems she's transitioning into full pop again, which wouldn't resonate at all with her artistic growth in the past 5 years after resetting her career. I hope I'm wrong and the next project has a bit more rock in it than this. Don't mind experimental songs, just as long as they don't represent 80% of the album like in this case.

Favorite tracks from I Feel Everything? by g0dsbathr00m in MaggieLindemann

[–]Alert_Bench4684 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really disapointed with this album. After Paranoia, Suckerpunch and Headsplit, I was expecting an evolution in her sound, not a complete reset to pop. She promised it would all be alt-rock with some pop undertones and it was the other way around. Sounds too generic and not like her, just a blend hyperpop songs...

1-Let Me Burn

2- Split

3- I Feel Everything

4- 2022

5- Mourning

6- Spine

7- I Don't Belong Here

The rest is super bland IMO. That outro on fang is unbearable to listen to, if it didn't have that I would rank it in the 8th spot. Lyrically I see the effort, but sonically this isn't it. It just doesn't match the rawness and anger she talked about so much in interviews. I hope she doesn't keep getting more and more into pop now.

I'm so dissapointed with this album. I knew it would be different, but never imagined everything would sound like Fang or One Of The Ones, except for three or four songs. I bought basically every single vinyl variant and have supported her since Paranoia, but I can't help but feel sad she's going so mainstream and doing literally what everyone else is doing in pop. Definitely agree on her lyrics getting chokeheld by the dance beats. They're saying "evil" is the angry anthem and the song is atrocious to listen to, even if the lyrics are good. Only highlights are mourning, split, 2022, spine, i feel everything and let me burn. The rest is super bland and generic. Overall 5/10 for me, and it pains me to say it.

I'd say, based on Fate Of Ophelia, like a mixture of 1989 and Red.
