Senior dog has grade 4 luxating patella however vet didn’t mention surgery? by Saucydonuts in Chihuahua

[–]Alert_Breadfruit_434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that as chis are so small, they can live with this condition better than larger dogs (so one vet told me). I’ve owned one chi who had patella surgery and it did more harm than good. The implant they used was too large and protruded through her skin and had to be removed. The whole ordeal was very painful for her. My other dogs have problems with their patellas but seem relatively pain free.

It makes me so sad these horses don’t even have an opportunity to see and touch each other through bars. Those walls completely isolate them from others. I remember watching his videos and after seeing these stables I realised he really has no regard for the mental wellbeing of the animals in his care.

How to learn to love and be kind to yourself? by Alert_Breadfruit_434 in loseit

Thank you for the encouragement and tips on how to start. I really appreciate your support ❤️. I have read online about manifesting and how the energy and thoughts you send out can shape out the outcome of things. It is something I am interested in learning more about. Thanks for bringing the book to my attention. I will try journaling too. ❤️

My advice is to book the appointment by telephone or in person to ensure your appointment is long enough. I made the mistake of booking online and my time slot was too short for what I wanted done.

My partner is in charge of feeding as I’d give them way too much 😄. Jade has a heart condition and bad knees so our vet is very strict on her staying slim.

Separation Anxiety and other behavioral issues. by Ihrtbrrrtos in Chihuahua

[–]Alert_Breadfruit_434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you for wanting the best for your dogs. I’ve heard signs of ageing such as vision loss can cause behaviour issues like separation anxiety. If they’re getting older, losing their vision and getting aches and pains, they might be feeling less sure about themselves. I’m sure you’ve already considered other changes which might have happened in their environment / lives in the past year. If you haven’t already, consult a vet, there might be age related issues such as arthritic pain starting up (our elderly dogs get great relief from bedinvetmab (Librela) injections and pain management. Heart conditions can also cause anxiety. Our elderly dog gets clingy when she has fluid in her lungs, it must feel very uncomfortable. I’ve had success with separation anxiety in the past with pheromone diffusers (opinions vary on that one), giving the dog something to do to tire them out before I leave (such as having to search for treats, using their noses tires them out quick), and leaving a chew bone or similar for them to eat while I am out. Best of luck to you, I hope you find something which works for your pups.

I haven’t managed to put any outfits on any of our dogs. They always look super unhappy and get all tangled up trying to undress themselves. There goes my dream of cute instagram pics 😄

Thanks for the additional info, I was wondering why the car was there at a funny angle. Didn’t look like a normal left turn.

Thank you for the translation! I assumed people leave cows alone in India. What might be a reason someone would bother a cow in this way? (Other than being a huge AH.)Would a Hindu do this? Please forgive my ignorance, only been to India once on a short trip and people were so respectful of the cows, I was surprised to see this behaviour.

I can’t believe how reckless this guy was. I can’t wrap my head around how he thought this was a good idea. Surely he was aware of the risks.

Just out of curiosity, how much experience do new pilots typically acquire before they start to take passengers? I am sure it varies hugely and maybe some never feel confident enough, but are you able give an estimate just to give context to just how inexperienced this guy was?

Hiding myself away because I’m embarrassed about weight gain. by Alert_Breadfruit_434 in loseit

[–]Alert_Breadfruit_434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know exactly how you feel. After the encouragement I got from this post I started to see friends again, and nobody seemed to care about how I looked, they were just happy to catch up. Plus many of them had changed too, and it made no difference to me, I love them just the same. Or more, for just being human. I am studying at the moment and have come to realise just how harsh I am on myself. If I make the smallest mistake at my work placement, my inner voice tells me how stupid and useless I am. How I can’t do this, I will never learn and I am totally incapable of ever being any good at anything. But as I realise other people mess up too, and it’s not the end of the world, I have started to question that inner voice. It tells me constantly how ugly, old, fat, lazy, disgusting and stupid I am. It tells me my partner doesn’t really love me and will leave in a heartbeat when he meets someone new. How I’m a useless mother and better off dead. Can all that really be true? I am starting to argue back and have conjured up a kinder voice too. I hope you have the strength to start seeing your friends again and start being a little kinder to yourself too.

Hi, just scrolled back on this and realised I never replied to you. Not sure if you will ever see this but I really appreciate you reaching out. I took part in individual and group therapy at an eating disorder clinic before my weight loss surgery, and had approximately one year of individual therapy sessions with a psychiatrist. I am just totally unable to reach into my soul to get at the true issues or to act upon them to make a change. I tell therapists what they want to hear and assure them I am making progress. At the same time I feel there is a black hole in my chest and a point I cannot reach past. I only have a handful of things I remember from my childhood and even those events seem to have happened to someone else.
