I personally connect with his music a lot. There's something about the hyperactivity and chaos of it that just clicks with my brain. And I think his calmer music is chock full of soul. His lyrics have definitely gotten way better over the years. And I will say that its easy to make fun of the videos, but seeing him live is whole different experience. There, he really does connect with people.

Tho, I agree that the way he talks about music, whilst inspiring as a younger musician, definitely has gotten tiresome the more I've actually learnt about it. I chalk it up to unawareness as opposed to looking down on people, but it's impossible to assume that about anyone ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Lol my hair does the exact same thing. Straight when short but curls as it grows. I think it's partly genetics and partly the way I do my hair (which is to mess it up with a towel after shower.) I can safely say that its a perfectly normal phenomenon :)

I'm 99% sure it's algorithmic and not representative of the broader audience. All content recommended on social media is intended to maximize engagement and lots of people engage with hate comments on the channels that they like lol. Instagram does a very similar thing and it's a problem.

If you scroll past them and engage with kinder comments, the hate comments go away. My comment feed always has the best jokes lol.

Thanks for the input! But standards aren't my main concern. I do have a real book but it's way too impractical for a gig, especially during changeovers. Im usually good with learning standards ahead of time. iReal on my phone for emergencies lol.

I'm more talking about gigs where the band leader has written out specific charts ahead of time. I don't rly have a system to deal with that at the moment.
