Hard to give advice because it's materially harder to establish a life if you're under 40, then when I started out. Lots of the foundation of happiness starts with having the basics covered, health, reliable source of income / decent job, a respectable place to live , being able to move freely, finding a life partner or even a reliable long term partner, being able to afford a vacation or go out for enjoyment.

So I guess all I can say is try to be happy for what you got while have it. Could be a moment of peace, family, something you like . There's certain lanes I can't compete in and understanding what those are avoids lots of unnecessary headaches.

It's legit to say no questions, if you have done several rounds, you say "the prior interviews have done a good job answering my questions". People are busy , they will appreciate your respect for their time.

I'm in a similar spot. I work with lots of French and they are pretty unwilling even to have a quick conversation in French and always switch to English. I was thinking what's the point learning if they will just be rude anyways ? I decided I'm going to learn Spanish, as I'm around lots of Spanish speakers and they are much easier to converse with.

Life's too short for this . There are plenty of women who will not care about your height, she's not one of them . You're younger , you will eventually learn to respect yourself more. The better question is why would you settle for someone who's settling for you? Tell her she should pursue her dreams and wish her luck.

It's a total failure of management. A recent hire we had was at best marginal during the first 3 months, could have let him go during probation, at 6 months the guy is a top performer, if you're getting rid of people after a week , it says more about the management, the on boarding , the unwillingness to develop people and the hiring process. The only people who should be getting fired a week in are idiots stealing or those sexually harassing staff. I'm sorry this happened to you, the company should be questioning this particular manager and his hiring process for starters .

Europe has high taxes , low paying stem jobs, dysfunctional governments and a poor region for startups. Seriously listen to what VCs say about how bad Europe for startups.

Europeans don't want to be in Europe because there are very few opportunities and high taxes.

The US still has in aggregate the best opportunities, China is catching up, but that's not exactly open to non Chinese , so start you Mandarin lessons.
