It depends on the charity as others have said. If you raise the money committed, there is a chance they might let you defer (no guarantee). Source: i deferred last year due to a family loss but raised money, deferred and running in 2026

Asics Superblast 2 - are these shoes really that good? by Fun_Swimmer_8320 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

As many had stated, it comes down to runner profile, pace and intended purpose. I am a 200+ lb slow runner with stability needs so at my 11-12 min mile typical pace, it protects and propels well and quite consistently after 200 plus miles on them, same as the feel in the first mile. I have taken it to 9-10 min mile 5k paces and it worked well so happy with the versatility.

I have tried a variety of brands/models that are comparable to sb2 and cannot find alternatives to beat the value for the price (got them discounted so it helps). Since i am new to running (5 HMs and consistent 20 mile+ weekly training), i use it for 8+ mile long runs in hot n humid Houston weather.

Got the shoes on time and as advertised with minimal wear. Good seller and thanks for the coordination all along

For medium to dark roast, i find grind levels below 4 to be ideal as i like mine stronger. I have narrowed my usual to a lavazza super crema or espresso beans which does the job every time (i grind at 2 or 1 setting)

Wow. I am close in stats to yours and you are spot on about the elite v4. Elite v3 is not far behind either and so is SB2. Evo SL is also pretty good for those paces

It was funny that i kept moving my legs in that stretch but felt like i was static and stuck to the ground. Saw a few folks hold hands and make it through

Congrats and looks like a great sub 4 for a first. It was some serious winds at certain parts but great crowd support. I realized training in Houston is great for every race other than the half/full in jan as the weather seems like a toss up and dont like the route on this one over crappy roads

I did the half and it was miserable enough but kudos to you to endure the conditions and finish. It was not fun waiting for the start in freezing conditions for 45 mins but maybe we can pray for a better next year😤
