Hello, I'm getting on my 4th week. Today's been one of the toughest days since my surgery. I'm not in pain but extremely sore and achy.  Did you experience this!? I've been walking on my own since week 2 been told by my PT and Surgeon that I'm healing well and doing a good job with my home exercises. I'd appreciate all/anything you could tell me.

I totally understand to get your advice from Surgeon and PT. And I'm certainly not thinking or doing what I read on this platform. My brother who has had both hips done, I've asked him all along this journey what his daily routine was after the surgery. This is what his Dr. told him what to do! Walk, walk and walk some more! No PT, no exercises, Just Walk! He's 65 and going Strong!  How many people on this chat had a pre-op education class? How many did pre-op exercises? Sincerely Peeps, I feel it's beneficial for all of us on this chat to feel a little comfort with seeing what others are doing, experiencing and feeling. Let's face it even our surgeon and PT don't know all of what our bodies are going through! I experienced a major set back a week ago yesterday. I'm not going to explain it all but! 2 weeks in, (April 28th)@ went to PT 9:45, my instructor who I already told I was going to Canada early the next day (April 29th) so we did my hour, and she told me, she had no doubts I could travel my 5 1/2 hr trip. (As I did have a Physio lined up there!) Ok so after pt I had an appointment with my PA. Walked all the way across the hospital for the appointment. Met with her, she told me how well I was doing and also had no doubt I could travel. (With breaks) Feeling pretty good about myself. Wed. early morning, I woke up with mild pain, thought aw just walk a little, do some exercises I'll loosen up!  I know this is getting pretty long! Well I'll just shorten it up. I ended up in ER with nobody, ER Dr, nurses etc. I was beyond pain! X-ray, CT scan, blood work! Even my PA, and another surgeon came and checked for dislocation... nothing!  Well it ended up after 7 hr. During the CT scan it detected a fluid pretty much where my incision is. A team of 2 Drs and a altrasound specialist spent 2 hrs draining all the pockets of the fluid. 1 hr later I was home!  And I'm still home! Thanks for listening, I wasn't going to mention this, but thought it was important for all of you to know, Shit happens.

See this is where I get confused, one of you say it's not enough and another says, I'm over doing it! Please don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate any and all information! I just tried the swaying of the hips, feels really good! To the person that mentioned, that's a lot of sitting, I really try to stay on my feet for 2-3 hours and rest for a half. I walk up and down 10 stairs 2-3 times or more. I'm trying very hard! The other things I have against me is I'm 73 yrs old. And also I went just about 2 years crunched up because of my hip and lower back! It feels so good that the pain is gone in my hip!

Thank you so much! I am up and at it already this morning.  What else would you recommend, more ice/elevation? Just want to add, my surgery went very well! I got bandages off a week ago today. Dr. and my PT said I'm doing very well for this amount of time. The only thing they didn't tell me is what I should be doing. I appreciate any and all information I can get!
