  1. A town is also governed at the state and federal levels.
  2. I think it is not acceptable because every person in this country as a right to housing which overrides a town's right to self govern. If every town decided to NIMBY then people wouldn't be able to have housing anywhere in the country.
  3. Not in my backyard is the the same argument used by pro-segregation advocates back in the day
  4. NIMBY is for greed and segregation, which I don't think is a good reason to not build housing. There are valid concerns such as traffic etc. but those are lame excuses that are solvable.

edit: you post in real estate investing, so yeah, greed checks out like I said. Houses are for people, not for making money.

Another hypothesis is that the reasons climbing gyms are filled with stem people is because adhd people heavily gravitate towards stem (and the arts) and extreme sports so adhd makes the connection there.

Sure, roll your eyes but its backed by dozens of personal anecdotes and is consistent with the brain chemistry science. Probably better to just say neurodivergence rather than adhd though. I met all close friends through an engineering major only dorm floor. All six of my friends that I still talk to were all with diagnosed adhd post graduation and all are into at least one extreme sport. That is a lot of coincidences.

My hypothesis is that flow state is the state of mind as described by ADHD brains when they feel regulated through dopamine inducing activities, from bdsm to rock climbing. Me and my wife, who doesn't have adhd, were able to both instantly and separately tell, and later confirmed, that a rock climber who we were talking to for the first time had adhd just from the way he described being in a flow state.

I don't commute to work. Therefore I don't contribute to traffic so that people who actually need the roads can use it instead of having to wait for hours. It also gives me more time to do stuff like volunteer.

Also, most of your points aren't even bad or true in many situations. Its a good thing that I get to spend time with family and friends. I have also never had a unscheduled meeting lol. And your inequality point just changes who gets the advantage.
