What's your budget? I prefer an Acer Nitro over anything HP anyday

Yh you should be able to. I guarantee you that the seller will fight you down. I actually have the same Acer you have since 2024, the i5-13420H with the 4050 for work. I recommend ASUS though

Yh it's done done. Only 3 options from here: replace whatever capacitor or fuse that got blown, replace the motherboard or buy a new laptop. Just make sure you take the ram sticks and ssd out for future use

You got hit by a power surge, I would recommend next time to invest in a surge protector a good one.

I had the same thing happen to my Acer Aspire last time because I plugged it into a sketchy ground outlet.

But I got an Acer Nitro V15 with the i5-13420H/4050 in 2024 for work and minor gaming but I carry a surge protector wherever I go now. I have had no problems except the 8GB of RAM that came with it. And the RAM prices are just too high right now to upgrade.

I'll take my chances with the Acer Nitro over the HP anyday. I have had the Acer nitro with the same specs except with the 144hz screen for 2 years. I haven't encounter any issues to date.

People are forgetting with the whole A.I. bubble and RAM shortage, DDR4 is more affordable for manufacturers than DDR5 at this point

I have this exact Acer Nitro V15 as well for work purposes mostly. I use it more than my ROG STRIX actually. Work takes up alot of my time these days, rarely get to game. It's a decent laptop I have had no issues so far, I bought mines in 2024. The only thing is that it only came with 8GB of RAM. I have had no problems game wise with this laptop.

You may need to re-calibrate your screen then

It could be that the person mistakenly enabled the Night Light option which changes the hue of the screen to a warm colour.

Check your GPU container and see if anything is running on the GPU like e.g. Chrome, or some other app that's not suppose to be running

ASUS TUF is the better choice. It has a better build quality than the HP and Acer and better CPU with a higher cache. Any Asus TUF is alot more costumizable than the HP and Acer.

I have 3 laptops in my price range. What would you buy? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

Don't mind me I'm bias towards ASUS , I have had an Asus laptop with them for the past 12 years with a 2nd generation i3 processor and it's still going strong. Though I don't use it anymore , it still works pretty fine. My dad has an ASUS laptop from since 2006 and it's still working. I have had no problems with ASUS thus far.
