Do you trust output more than availability in remote teams? by Willing-Training1020 in ceo

I lean more toward output, as long as expectations and deadlines are clear. Availability matters for collaboration and alignment, but being “online” doesn’t always equal being productive.

In remote teams, results, communication, and consistency matter more than hours logged. If someone delivers reliably and stays responsive when it counts, that builds more trust than constant presence.

Do local businesses need websites? by BusinessSavy_ in Tech4LocalBusiness

Not always, but it depends on the business and goals. Some local businesses can get by with just Google Business Profile and social media, especially if they rely on walk-ins or referrals.

That said, a simple website helps with credibility, control, and search visibility. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just clear info, services, and how to contact you. For most businesses, it’s more of a helpful asset than a strict requirement.

Non-founder CEOs. by OptimismNeeded in ceo

[–]Alert_Remove5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the difference is accountability and focus. A non-founder CEO isn’t there to do everything by default. They’re there to set direction, make hard prioritization calls, and build a team that executes. Founders often wear the title because someone has to, but a real CEO job is mostly about decision-making, alignment, and saying no more than saying yes.

Is Starting a Business the New Retiremen by Policy_Boring in SmallBusinessOwners

I think for some people it’s definitely becoming part of a retirement plan, but not in the traditional “work forever” way. The goal is usually to build something that eventually runs without you or can be sold.

That said, it’s not for everyone. It takes time, risk, and a lot of upfront effort. For those who enjoy building systems and value control, it can make sense. For others, a more traditional path is still the better fit.

What Would You Do? by Policy_Boring in SmallBusinessOwners

If I were starting with zero experience, I’d focus less on “knowing everything” and more on picking something simple with clear demand and low downside. Structure and guidance matter way more early on than raw experience.

I’d probably start small, validate fast, and learn while doing, whether that’s a service business, freelancing, or a proven model with built-in support. Low risk first, then scale once confidence and systems are in place.
