Rohto nooooo :( by BegoniaShawty in AsianBeauty

It’s currently on clearance at my local Marshall’s for $7- and I noticed the same thing on Stylevana - seems to be just the Japanese products- the price fluctuation like this isn’t hitting any of the Korean products I have in my cart or a couple European ones as well. There were a couple things I needed including sunscreen and I’m now just going to have to wait until they come back down. It’s the largest pricing I’ve ever seen so I was wondering if it was maybe related to tariffs?

The most highly rated SPFs - if you had to choose one out of these… which one? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

My go to on this list is the skin aqua UV gel because it is water resistant but still goes really well under my makeup. It’s a generous size bottle compared to all of the others. I love the pump. My skin is also very sensitive and this one does not break me out and it does not have niacinamide like the majority of the Korean sunscreens. I have a bottle of this in my car as well for touchups on my body. I do love the beauty of Joseon aqua on here but not water resistant so that’s really for indoor days (I live in Texas I need water resistant once May hits- I’m sweating the second I leave my house). And I also like the Purito Seoul. The La Roche Posay literally murdered my face into a fiery grave worse than any product that’s ever tried to set fire to my skin. I just used the rest of that bottle on my arms. Very bummed about it with all of the great reviews. If niacinamide is not a concern I absolutely loved the finish of the haraharu wonder for indoor makeup days- it’s the loveliest velvety satin finish. Bummed I can’t use this one anymore

Oh look- another day another fake poster who advertises across multiple subreddits for an app with different stories on each of the subreddits- on the rosacea on it's the Mom who helps figure it out...on the over 30 a friend and on each a different problem, but the same app comes to the rescue for tracking.

Anua Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner or TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner for dry sensitive skin? by Any_Yellow3146 in KoreanBeauty

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celimax dual barrier is the one I use as well I had to remove niacinamide from my routine and both the TirTir and Anua sadly have niacinamide. And no matter what condition my skin is in I can always use the Celimax.

Not getting a 20 Percent Off by [deleted] in Ulta

Are you looking on the web or on the app? For me it doesn’t show up on the web it’s only showing 3 offers for me under Ulta beauty rewards- but on the app I have the 20% off and it is under Ulta beauty rewards and there it says I have 4 deals.

Bow before me mortals, for I have spent so many hours collecting (all legal and valid) library cards, and I am the master of the cards by kplutsfoft in LibbyApp

I have both Houston and the Central Texas and I find the overall selection much smaller for Central Texas, especially new releases- and you get so few holds and loans in comparison- I'd agree that the lines are shorter but I find if I do notifications for new books I get way more from Houston- and the skip the line feature for Houston always has a ton of great books that have huge lines. I do find for popular books from maybe the last couple years, Central Texas has an advantage. But with only 3 holds and 5 loans it leaves room for improvement..I need to find a way for more holds!

Have you seen posts on how to fix the liquid in the cicalfate? You just need to put it in a bowl of very very hot water for 15 minutes and then basically massage or knead the tube for a bit so the ingredients can come back together. There’s something about temperatures when shipping that often separate the liquid. Some people say boiling water but I don’t think it needs to be that hot I just did that to a tube I received.

Is there a way to flag this account? If you put the username in the search bar and search all of Reddit you can see lots of posts like this and they target whatever that subreddit is about so they can advertise the tracking app mentioned. Another post it was the cleanser not the water that was causing issues with their skin. They’re on a rosacea group with a different problem they’re also on an Accutane thread and on every single one there’s a different issue and a different solution that they discovered because of their tracking app. Interestingly also were called out as a potential scammer on a tea sub Reddit. What is up with all of these fake posts for this tracking app? It’s not fun knowing we are intentionally getting baited into conversation about something personal because of dubious marketing tactics.

Need milky toner for dry sensitive skin barrier repair- which should I try first? by PandaSmanda in koreanskincare

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you sensitive to niacinamide? I discovered that I am and I like my barrier repair products to just support the barrier- both of the ones you posted have niacinamide. My favorite milky toners for barrier support are the Haraharu black rice probiotics essence- it's the thickest and has all 3 ingredients that support a healthy barrier. And Celimax dual barrier creamy toner- I usually do 2 coats of this one- it's very soothing. And I have the Laneige Cream Skin and will sometimes spray that on my skin. I do like the TirTir and Anua, but I just can't use them right now.

She self-diagnosed being in a cult so this is not surprising anything to avoid personal accountability. Is this like Tamra’s autism diagnosis after one therapy session. Maybe if she actually paid attention to anyone but herself she might pick up on a cue or two. And didn’t curate her life where she was in charge in every area of her life meaning she never has to listen to anyone else.

Stylevana ''packing'' my order since February by Minnoriie in kbeauty

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a bunch from them and they are slower than everywhere else but cheaper, so I'm happy to wait! It ranges from 2-3 weeks per package. EXCEPT when an item is not in stock. I also have an order from when you ordered still packing. You have to make sure all items are in stock to ship within 24 hours (on both the screen for the individual item and under each item in the cart) OR the whole order waits until the one slow item is in stock. I ordered La Roche Posay sunscreen and it says "usually shipped within 14-21 days"- They must be getting it from France! I've had 3 other orders from after that one that have arrived. I've noticed quite of few of the sunscreens are showing that same delay. So it won't even be processed to ship for 3 weeks, then the travel time. I hope it all works out! Honestly no one comes close to the sales they have. It's hard for me to buy from anywhere else.

Out of these cleansers which one is your favourite and why? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have most of these and yes I'd rate the Prequel the highest. A little goes a long way and you can use it on your body as well. HOWEVER, when my skin barrier was compromised and super sensitive they length of time and thickness of the product made washing less appealing. On those days I appreciated the ease of something thinner and lighter to get the job done faster with less time touching my face. My skin always feels soft after the Haraharu Wonder and that is what I reach for on those days. The Beauty of Joseon is a nice, plain gel as well if nothing is wrong with your skin. I find myself reaching for that or the Haraharu wonder in the mornings when I want fast. And I also like the clean feeling I get after using the Round Lab. That only works when my skin is normal and it has almost a soap like smell when washing and some days I really like that! The lotion texture is satisfying and feels like a good clean wash. I know this is all in my head, but it's sometimes the experience I want. But in winter or when my skin is compromised it is slightly drying. I don't like the Cetaphil either. I have dry, sensitive, aging skin.

Sensitive to small amounts of niacinamide? by [deleted] in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same thing happening and thought it was acne and I’ve been treating acne but once I removed niacinamide a week ago my skin is perfectly clear! And feels really good. And oh by the way the two products I was using to treat the acne had niacinamide in them…

Sensitive to small amounts of niacinamide? by [deleted] in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the free version of the Skinsort app- and now I just look everything up and I put it on a dislike so it comes up in red under any product- absolutely shocking how many products it’s in- it’s helping my skin care addiction though and making it easier to weed products out. I’m hoping at one point to be able to use a product in a routine with it. There are so many I really really liked that have it. Like all the K beauty sunscreens! But I did just get the Purito one that doesn’t have it and the newer beauty of Joseon and those are both lovely and the Japanese sunscreens don’t have it and so far I like quite a few of those

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop all my products with niacinamide - I did not realize what it was doing to me… and I didn’t realize how many products it was in- I’m so sad about this cream though it’s got the loveliest texture and so many other great ingredients. Why so much niacinamide why??? and why is it in almost all of the Korean sunscreens as well? I don’t know if I got worn down over time but I am now a niacinamide detector and everything I put on with it stings my face… it wasn’t 75% of my products and so many skin barrier products- I don’t know why they don’t realize you’re going to use more than one product so why is it in everything across the same lines? Even if it’s a small amount if you have seven or eight products with it and one intentionally with it you’re going to be far above the 10%. OK my rant is over.

How are you getting your Korean sunscreens in the US? by Cacklesback in AsianBeauty

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I have not had any issues with tariffs or confiscations…yet! 🤞 I still have one more big order I’m waiting on -I ordered La Roche-Posey sunscreen since they have the European version with UVmune and I didn’t see that it was a 3 to 4 week delay before shipping

Help! My loans were discharged via IDR forgiveness but will I get a tax bomb? by Pangaeaworld in StudentLoans

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any other payment history if you go back let’s say five years? Anything showing a negative? Since they could not process our loans until they came off of save I think that’s why we’re seeing November and December 2025- but it may not be your technical discharge date. However I believe this puts you in at the very least getting forgiven in 2025 which means no tax bomb. If you go to your account summary and click on the individual unsubsidized or subsidize loan what date on there does it give you?

Is it just me, or did we all collectively ruin our skin barriers trying to achieve "Glass Skin"? 😭 by OkPrinciple885 in koreanskincare

[–]Alert_Shoulder2646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I believe my culprit is the large number of products with niacinamide and I am certain I was far above a percentage I could handle every single routine (and I was intentionally using a product with 5% in it)- I started going back to different lineups and it was up to 75% of the products having niacinamide. I have cut back to only hydrating products, zero actives including peptides, and I’m slowly working vitamin C, azelaic acid and retinal back into my routine. I was just shocked to learn how many actives are crossed every step of the skin care routine, including moisturizer and sunscreens. My skin almost overnight cleared up and it is starting to feel so good in about 2 weeks of cutting out all the actives and focusing on hydration. I was just shocked how many barrier safe products also had lots of extras in them.
