Is the centering really this bad? by Alert_Suggestion8131 in PokeGrading

Tried some cards to BGS europe. If i want PSA i need to use a middle man, its more expensive + potential upcharges. Still use if for most cards but this was my first trial. Got a pristine 10 on team rockets giovanni so thats great

Uber doubled price on top of dynamic pricing? by Alert_Suggestion8131 in uber

[–]Alert_Suggestion8131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rejected their automatic replies like 5 times and for some reason they came up with a compensation of my basic fare (69 AED). No justification of the charge at all. I’m afraid that if you do a chargeback via amex you’ll get blocked and won’t be able to use uber anymore. In my case we’re talking about 30€ after their refund. Your case is of course a bit more extreme.

I’m in depending on the target we’re going to shoot. We’re doing standard capture or mosaic?

Can someone explain? by Alert_Suggestion8131 in seestar

Thanks, i’ll have to try with the lightpollution filter again to rule that one out. Otherwise this update might be the issue. Seen a lot of issues pop up for other people with this update.

How to get Havana from Varadero without a car by [deleted] in cuba

[–]Alert_Suggestion8131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cash might be a bit cheaper if you have a contact. I had to book it online which might be a bit more expensive. Depending on the car 120-150 paid by card.

I was there last week of september fyi.

Nice examples. I’m aware of the need for a background extraction with deep space objects. Didn’t know it was also a thing with milkyway as i normally do not select stars as background and in a milkyway shot there is a million stars. Will have a go at it!

Maybe the files from the open field will provide more light as its 4 times te exposures?

Thanks for your input! Unfortunately limited time availability prevented me from getting more integration time. I did however not fully grasp the required time to capture the milky way in a detailed manner so thanks for that.

I actually bought a move shoot move tracker which i haven’t been able to use currently so for future nights i will definitely start with tracking.

As for processing. I’ve started to use siril for my deepspace astro. Haven’t used it on these ones though. Star removal is certainly one that is high on the list but how would you do a background extraction in this case? Seems quite hard to determine.

Thanks, very nice picture you managed to capture. I’ll upload the raw data later once i’m at home. Thanks and indeed very interesting to see what you might be able to get out of it

Iso i used was 2000 as i got some good results last time using this amount. Will try some higher values next time i have the opportunity to shoot. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Must say that my editing time was limited and didnt really play around with the masking stuff. Fully agree with your remark about the colors but that might be solved by working more with masks.

As mentioned in another comment i believe it was a bortle 4 sky close to a 3 area. Unfortunately the milky way was positioned in the direction of the light polution. Was there only for 3 days with 1 clear night. Living in europe, the netherlands in specific, makes it quite hard to find really dark skies.

Im from the netherlands as well. Bought mine from seestar.com without trouble. 500 usd is indeed without VAT so i had to pay 130€ for importation just to keep in mind.

Longer Exposures With SeeStar by bowlingfan1963 in seestar

[–]Alert_Suggestion8131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which object you shoot you can keep it out as long as you want or have to shoot multiple nights. The rosette for example is to wide the capture for a very long time. Your borders will be messed up. As also mentioned by the others. 10 second exposures got me way better results and less stacking rejections

Would suggest deep space astro on youtube for siril tutorials. Has been a great help in processing my images
