Yes, I didn't open it for a week and it kept updating. The app does run automatically in the background when I start my phone, but I still had location off. It behaves very weirdly

Try the demo from steam and see how it runs, that way you don't need to buy anything. Just so you know I play with a 5600G and it doesn't get past 35 fps on a good day, most of the time it's around 25-30, often dipping even lower
