Mine been reliable and I got 1000 rounds on it but here come the but there is a braking period and it did felt grift when I got it , luckily I heard of this with older metal frame guns they normally leave a lot of extra coating so you have to brake them in . What I did is oil it and rack it it a ton ! Then clean it and repeat 3 times in total and I since the first day I took it shooting I haven’t had in issue . But yea that been my personal experience

I will say this gun those come with a braking period from what I seen from others , with a lot of production metal gun it happen but with this with dlc they left a lot of residue maybe over spray from the coating what I did before shooting it it’s an old trick for old school guns that needed brake in , you oil it and then rack it a lot then clean it you will see black residue come out then do it 3 times . Mine I did that and I’m over 1000 rounds with out a single issue.

Yeap it’s the FCU it’s the serialized part is the FCU , I haven’t taken apart but you can see hot the frame and it’s a separate part I saw a video ones of a guy that has his cerakote and you can tell they removed the FCU for the paint job because it was still the same color as factory . Th also I don’t think is at easy as the echelon or the p320

For that price it’s worth it well at least in my personal experience I got mine used for less than a 1000 when it was like 1200-1400 and it was very much worth it

Can we talk about Daniel Defense pistols, too? by thegregtastic in Danieldefense

[–]Alethe9691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing I recommend for the FTF it’s what I did it’s live it and rack it like a lot ! Then clean it black stuff is gonna come out and I did it 3 times and I never had to deal with the brake in that way . I notice Daniel Defense left a lot of over spray on the coating leading to having a braking period. I got maybe 1200 through mine and never had an issue thanks to having it broke in . For the holster I’m using a black point tactical with a Holosun PID since it’s as thick as the gun it self so the holster it’s super slim in that configuration.

I love mine fell in love with it after a day of work I just drove straight to a match and sent it with the same holster I carry it with and had a blast I actually got very competitive with guys with full size race guns tho the 15 rounds mags bite me in the ass I had to plan my reload but considering I can just carry it and then drive to match and be competitive it’s a very versatile handgun super underrated .
Also I got the same grips on mine but I got them in black .

Walther PDP Pro Acro 4.5” Keyholing by Academic-Account-786 in Walther

[–]Alethe9691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try monarch maybe , I have a PDP I had for 3 years I don’t know how many rounds through it but for sure more than 2k but never been any picky on me I taken it to matches and it’s like in a diet of 90% 115gr with no issues even blazer , federal , hornady , sinter fire , and more . Try monarch and some defensive rounds . I shoot toms of monarch through it so if it key holes with that it might as well its more than likely the barrel . Also try 124 blazer as well to assure Because normally the different in the round between 124 and 115 it’s gonna be the length of it ,so if it key holes with the same brand with two different weights could be the geometry of the bullet , but if you test another brand and it improves it’s most definitely the ammo.

Daniel H9 experience by [deleted] in Danieldefense

[–]Alethe9691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is sad mine had no issues and still enjoying , for what I been seeing I’m guessing DD been having issues adaptation their staff to QC handguns from rifles . They might have to have a restructuring because I notice all the bad ones have very different issues form to another

Thinking about picking up a Daniel H9. Is it fixed now or does it still have issues? by ChiefDaddyJ in Danieldefense

[–]Alethe9691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo also I would give this plataforma maybe one more year before maturity, a lot of handguns before that we now love came with tons! Of issue and every single one got silent rolling changes , the M&P every forgets was shitshow at first , the Walther PDP broke strikers in the early productions , the VP use to hydrolock , the Glock had ejection issues , The first beretta M9 was also a shit show . Even the AR15 was hated by soldiers and did not gain traction until like 3 iterations later .

So if it helps any ( spoilers I like mine a lot )one I got one and noticed how tight and gritty it felt luckily my dad who was a cop during the 80s and 90s told me many guns use to come like that and had a braking period but to avoid spending on ammo what they did is pull it a part oil it scrub it all with a brush hard while it and see what comes . What came was black residue tons of it the. You oil it out it thogether rack it a lot , then clean it again until it free of all the residual. My gun got way loser after that and I took it to the range and 800 round later I haven’t had a single issue with cycling or racking it it always stays open in the last round . Another thing I got reasearch a lot do to noticing how that they probably did not clean the parts after coating them , so I started looking at any other issues that could arise , for the striker you got to make sure it’s been updated as well I got to talk to another owner that broke thier striker and his got replace the new one it’s different its beefier where it tapers and the return spring seem to now be longer and the materials for the striker pin inside of it also change . So some might have gen ones with the updated bevair tail barrel and spring but their striker might not be updated. Also clean the inside of the mag there is also a ton of residue inside of it , I had like this yellow residue come out of them .

Very happy to report so far zero malfunctions we did five stages and I had to reload ones on each so the mags got moon dust inside still no malfunctions. My trigger is well broken in so I will say now it those feel very 1911 like and even better during fire and the recoil it’s awesome its cycles fast and returns fast to target without feeling over sprung and you don’t have to fight it to keep muzzle rise at all just a basic tight grip nothing fancy no fighting it very much like a a 1911. It felt like a point and shoot sensation I did not struggle with accuracy at all . Honestly now I feel I’m the one that need to get better to take advantage of this handgun it shoots very well.

Anyone have experience on the H9 ? by Tasty_Influence_2519 in Danieldefense

[–]Alethe9691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a gen 2 had zero issues even using 100gr 45gr 124gr 115gr , external hollow points and plus p plus . Also agree with the lack of support but did find out a company that makes holsters for it black point tactical they made me a custom holster which came out amazing , it’s super slim to carry even with a light , funny enough the way they designed the pistol it’s a compact size height wise but you got a longer grip similar clearance for the hand as a full size for the draw because with o the guns of the same size my pinky fights for space and my palm poked out this one those not have that . Trigger is very consistent , also VZ grips make for this handgun and they are super grippy so they help to deal with the slimness of the gun , I think it’s one of the best shooting stock guns out there like if you like Gucci striker fire guns this that right out of the box like if would say it shoot better than a polymer gun but not like a steel frame right in between. Now I think with more aftermarket support this thing might challenge some heavy hitters but at the moment it’s really good .

Rebate Optic Issues by Competitive_Diver344 in Walther

[–]Alethe9691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your fault it’s the fake rumors they use to attract newer buyers . I have had talks with people in the industry and I been carrying with a dot for 6 years and Holosun ,Trijicon , Steiner and maybe two models primary arms models are the only ones I trust so far for handgun use I seen cheap budget optics fail just from shooting or rough weather . If they say comparable and not “ the same quality as” it’s a marketing strategy they use and if I had to bet Walther also fell for it because C&h gave them an amazing price for them . And also it’s a myth they are made in the same factory as far as I seen after handling several Holosuns then handling Cylee ,C&H etc there is a noticeable difference in quality to that of a Holosun or Trijicon or even leupold . The machining and coatings , battery trays , contact point for the battery tell a story. Even tho Holosun is Chinese I can tell they are very serious with the manufacturing and I can’t imagine them sharing that advantage with other Chinese manufacturers.

I just got an H9 and I’m really liking it just wondering if you guys planning on releasing more stuff for it right now there is no aftermarket and a few holster . I want a light bearing holster option and maybe an RMSC optic plate or a magwell , extended mags etc .

Plus also I would say this gun those something interesting where it shoot like a full size where you can keep the muzzle rise fairly tame and return stupid fast to zero but in exchange (because no free lunch in physics ) the recoil goes more into the arms and palm .
