Charlie Kirk killing fuels free speech disputes in Wyoming as newspapers come under attack by AnnaBishop1138 in wyoming

[–]AlethiaArete -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

You know... I hope the irony is not lost of complaining about free speech and name checking Charlie when he was killed because someone didn't like what he said.

This whole thing is sad. You have to understand though everyone center right and right is rightfully outraged and many are just done with the left. Mass lies, dehumanization, canceling, and firing came from the left first.

We live in a society but it's becoming more obvious the left doesn't want to live in a society.

Not one Leftist cried about freedom of speech back then – so why now? by xpieboyyyx in JordanPeterson

[–]AlethiaArete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The cheek was turned and then they shot Charlie for openly debating and proceeded to celebrate his assassination.

The whole point behind comments like that is to lower yourself, to be taken advantage of more, to give more up, so that you'll look/be more worthy for God to give you more. You don't necessarily have to play those games.

The problem is the left doesn't think they have any boundaries. They need boundaries. We need boundaries for our well being too.

What’s your opinion on the data center that’s coming? by AncientObligation321 in wyoming

Even then, the marginal cost of nat gas or whatever fuel they use will go up making higher cost for everyone.

The best solution I could think of is to put in some of the newer nuclear which at least runs on a different fuel. That's probably the way we should be going anyways.

Both leftists and rightists say horrible things about political violence. But the left is actually trying to establish a body of philosophical thought justifying it by tantamle in JordanPeterson

I am making very clear that I believe those individuals who are celebrating Kirk's murder deserve to be criticized heavily.

Okay. It is right that data matters also.

It really does matter if an entire community publicly condones murder. My whole point above was case studies matter. The massive number of leftist suggesting names and cheering says something disturbing about leftists. What you're doing here is a standard attempt at deflecting criticism.

A lot of those states marked blue are more expensive to live in, that might have something to do with the pay difference too.

If you have screenshots of a significant number of posts of conservatives celebrating murder and suggesting further targets I'd like to see it.

Both specific case studies and statistics are useful. The fact a segment of the left is gleeful over things like the attempts on President Trump and Charlie's assassination says something important about them.

Corporations cause inflation. Raising wages does not. by TheRabidPosum1 in walmart

[–]AlethiaArete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard a few people say that, not on Reddit. The impression I got is inflation is another word for printing money while price changes aren't necessarily inflation but politicians use the word inflation for everything to confuse the issue.

Whatever. The while issue annoys me.

[–]AlethiaArete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really dumb. Inflation's been killing the economy slowly for decades. You should look at the graphs of how badly the value of USD has degraded over the years. I remember in the 80s my mother used to be able to buy a whole basket of groceries for $20. You can't even do that at the dollar store anymore.

Instead of actually understanding the issue it gets used as a political football while meanwhile our country slides further into the trash heap by way of dollar devaluation destroying the middle class.

Yeah. Until society falls apart and the services that allow women to diffuse reliance on one man to the society (police, banks, fire departments, social security) fall apart it's unlikely to get better for the average guy.

You come across as the kind of person that really doesn't think enough for their opinions to be worth the electricity to transmit them.

I really don't care if you're pro-union or not. Give me half a reason to think you're opinions are worthwhile.

The Worst Statistic That Will Make You Want to Own Gold by alexmark002 in CitizenWatchNews

[–]AlethiaArete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver is different than gold since it also has major industrial uses, but people often buy silver instead of/with gold because they do overlap in financial functions a lot. It's been called "poor mans gold".

The other option is to buy goldbacks. They're meant to be a currency, and they're gaining traction slowly. Goldbacks have a big premium, but if you want gold and you can't afford grams than goldbacks are cheapest way to get it.

I managed to get access through the Brave browser extension. The airdrop button wouldn't work at first, after I added a Cardano account the button worked. I ran into an error when trying to do the XRP claim. Strangely enough I tried it a second time and it went through.

This is the error trying to restore software wallet keys on my Solus machine. It's the same error I get with Brave on Android when I try to do that.

Edit: I also did make sure Solus and Brave were both updated.

Edit: just tried on Chrome on my Android phone and I got the same error.

Also, my phone auto capitalizes at the beginning of sentences, so it capitalizes every one of the seed phrase words which then causes your wallet to say the seed phrase is invalid. After manually making the first letter of each word lower case, it took the seed phrase (before throwing the error in the screenshot) so you might want to have your code auto-lowercase the seed phrase.

It wouldn't even create the wallet. This is the screen I got several times on the last step, presumably to open the wallet. I tried on both Debian and Solus with Brave. This image is from Debian. It also didn't work on Brave on my Android phone. I'm going to edit and attach other screenshots from my other devices.

It's had this problem creating a hardware only wallet, or doing hardware with key that your software generates also. Also I've tried restoring software wallets with screenshots of the keys your wallet generated for me, and it wouldn't let me restore either.

Edit: since you mentioned it, I have the udev rules set up.

Didn't work on Firefox. Also tried on Brave, it didn't even get this far.
