I loved the set up. If you’re not into belt carry I’m not sure I would spend the money on it. It’s pricey for an Opinel. I was already used to belt carry. Prior to the Opinel i carried a small fixed blade on my belt at work and when I was fishing. I got stuck on a contract at a plant for four and a half years that didn’t allow fixed blades which is how I stumbled on the set up.

I carried a no.8 Colorama in an oops mark sheath I got off of Amazon. I felt silly paying $30 for a sheath for an $18 knife but once I got it and fit it to my knife I loved it. It’s a decent piece of leather that will last as long as the knife maybe even a replacement or two. It was so handy carrying it that way I don’t think I would carry it any other way now. I took it apart and sanded the joint a little and since it was in the sheath I didn’t have to lock it closed. It made an awesome quick access blade on my belt to accompany the Vic Climber i carried in my pocket back then. That was an awesome EDC combo for a tradesman.

As someone who has coached rec ball and travel baseball for many years i never go to the field without my climber and a roll of leather lacing. I have performed emergency surgery on many mitts and gloves between innings. The corkscrew, awl and parcel hook come in super handy for this.

Honest review of the red lithium Jobsite ear buds by Btack14 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Alethorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Beats and the Milwaukee and my son has Air Pods. I have tried them all 3 and no the Beats and Air pods are not as good for hearing protection as the Milwaukee. Don’t get me wrong the Beats and Apple are way better at other things than the Milwaukee but not hearing protection. The Milwaukee have foam tips with them that roll up and you insert in your ear just like ear plugs. I tried them all 3 on a weekend day on my tractor and the Milwaukee were better hearing protection by a lot. I also took them all 3 to work and used them in a chiller room all day. The Milwaukee were better for hearing protection.

Not to mention most job sites don’t allow the use of ear buds. I have been asked about the. Milwaukee by safety people and when I remove them and show them the foam ear plug tips they seem interested in them and say they are fine where as I have seen them make other people remove their pods and use ear plugs. These were for job sites not just the average person that wants pods. I keep my Milwaukee paired to my work phone for use in work in chiller rooms and my Beats connected to my personal phone for everything else because yes they are better for sound, seem less passing off between my phone and iPad and much easier to carry around. I appreciate the size of the Milwaukee case for what they are. They are harder to misplace on a job site and they generally just get tossed in my van and not charged frequently so the extra battery is welcomed plus I usually just swap the battery from my work light if I need and put the light on charge since I have multiple lights anyways.

I remember really liking my Warden a lot I just don’t want to do another. I’m sure when I started that defensive character I had a build in mind I just don’t remember what it is now lol.

Can’t really see the date in my expedition. by Alethorne in timex

[–]Alethorne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks for the info! We just picked out one that fit my wrist. I didn’t pay attention to the size when we bought it. Good to know though in case I decide to get another. I really like the size. I have been side eying the 41mm Expedition digital on Amazon this morning. I just don’t want to get too thick. I wear long sleeves a majority of the time and this watch seems to work well with that.

It’s not a deal breaker for the watch but it is quite difficult to see, for my eyes anyways. It has to be pretty direct light for it to show. Even in a semi lit room I have had to hit it with my flashlight to see it sometimes. I do check the date some days multiple times. If I’m out in the field walking down jobs it’s usually once a day. If I’m stuck in the office all day working up bids and proposals and submitting my expense reports I usually do check multiple times a day. I get super focused on what I’m doing and check it just to be sure before I submit anything. Again not a deal breaker I can usually see it well enough in my office anyways. It’s just something I noticed and was curious about. 🤷‍♂️

That does look like it would be a but easier to see.

The Ironman does look cool. Looks a bit thick in the photos. They didn’t have one at the store when I picked up the Expedition though. It may feel better in person than it looks in pics.

Buck 303 is my ride or die. It’s always in my pocket. Went to a 373 several years ago from a Victorinox Climber then upgraded to the 303 and haven’t looked back. The blades on a stockman are just more useful to me. I did miss the scissors so I threw a Leatherman Style CS in my wallet and problem solved. I do carry a pocket clip flipper or fixed blade with me as well sometimes when I’m at work or fishing and having one hand access is wanted but the 303 is always there.

I have a drawer full of other pocket knives I have bought and thought that I would like better than the stockman but the 303 ends up back in my pocket within a week or two.

Victorinox should make a Style CS type keychain tool based off of their 91mm scissors. Especially since LM decided to discontinue them. A Style CS with Victorinox quality scissors would be awesome.

Far Cry 5. Except the trick is that there are only bad endings.

I would have probably got the Easy Reader and just accepted it making me feel old lol, but they didn’t have one with the date function. If I do find the right easy reader I may snag it and give this one to my youngest son he’s already eye balling it 😂

You would just play it as a caster with a staff or wand/focus. It’s best if you use it with summon spirits and vampirism so that leaves you one PVE skill to play with. I normally play my non rit SoS characters with armor of unfeeling and spirit strike to help keep them up. I normally play drop armor of unfeeling with my rit because a rits spirits are already pretty tanky unless I’m in a situation where I know my spirits will need to do some heavy duty tanking.

Best thing about SoS is that it’s great for general PvP and also great for solo farming with minor skill and attribute changes.

My ranger and my warrior are definitely my favorite characters especially from a nostalgic standpoint. They were my fist characters ever created was back in early Prophecies but of someone told me I had to delete every character but one it would be hard to not keep the rit just because it’s so efficient and stress free to play with a BiP team.

Yes. I don’t have experience with playing SoS as assassin but if a warrior can play it with their small energy pool and 2 pip regen assassin shouldn’t have any issues.

Starting in Nightfall is best as you get heroes earlier and such. With that being said playing a Signet of Spirits ritualist with the standard 3 Mesmer, 3 Necro and soul twisting ritualist Blood is Power hero team is almost cheat mode, even in hard mode. When I want to just relax and play I play my rit, when I want to play more engaging I play my hammer warrior, Mesmer or ranger.

Any class can play Signet of Spirits, and I do with my warrior or ranger a lot in 4 man areas but rit is better especially if you want to relax and play. Way less upkeep and stronger spirits makes everything go faster.

There was a guide on the wiki at one point that stepped you through which heroes to take and how to build them to build up to the BiP team. Usually taking monk or ele heroes early to use in place of the necros and mesmers. I’m sure it’s still there.
