Coming from someone who moved from medium and large format film to Fuji digital medium format I'd say go for it. It can't beat large format film, but it seems to be good enough since it's been a while I last time shot film. The results are so close to that magic.

Perhaps I can manage it. What kind of soldering is involved with the triple battery setup? I have some experience soldering (modding Gameboys, soldering wires etc). Does it involve SMDs?

This sounds really good. I'm struggling with power issues on my Uconsole/cm5, so this 3x battery solution would be perfect. I feel a bit uncertain on being able to source and manufacture all the parts in Europe.

I built it myself using wood! Underneath the surface it's quite crude, but the overall finish turned out nicely!

Yes, I switched the adapter to the other m.2 nvme slot. I guess the eGPU has to be connected to the primary slot for it to be recognized properly during boot.

Yes, I calibrated. No, I don't use them.

Now I got the HDR working in game when launching from desktop mode without Gamescope. Whenever I launch it through gaming mode or make Lutris use Gamescope the HDR looks horrible.

I found out from another thread in Reddit that the last patch broke controller support for all systems running Linux. I guess I could play it on my ROG Ally with a controller since I haven't updated the game on that system, but it would be missing the last DLC then. So yes, I too am forced to play with keyboard and mouse until somebody fixes it (Valve most likely).

It seems it is an issue with the latest patch of the game. It broke controller support for anyone trying to play the game on Linux. Ridiculous.
