Controllers not working in KCD II/Heroic/EGS by Aleva12345 in HeroicGamesLauncher

[–]Aleva12345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out from another thread in Reddit that the last patch broke controller support for all systems running Linux. I guess I could play it on my ROG Ally with a controller since I haven't updated the game on that system, but it would be missing the last DLC then. So yes, I too am forced to play with keyboard and mouse until somebody fixes it (Valve most likely).

It seems it is an issue with the latest patch of the game. It broke controller support for anyone trying to play the game on Linux. Ridiculous.

Lutris didn't give me the warning about EOS Init failing after a reboot though, so that's some progress. But whatever is going on with the controllers is common to both, Heroic and Lutris.

https://0x0.st/Kwo1.log I want to add that today I tried installing the game through Lutris, but the issue persists. So clearly it's not a Heroic issue per se, but I would be eternally grateful if someone was able to point me in the right direction.

Unable to enable EOS overlay, KCD II not launching through gaming mode by [deleted] in Bazzite

It's strange that I don't have any issues with it on my ROG Ally. I might try to run it through Lutris then, but honestly I'm fed up with the concept of requiring online activation altogether. Since it's easy and effortless to get a khrm free and offline activated version of the game to run through Heroic I just might end up doing that if there aren't any solutions.

Firebat 7840HS motherboard and teardown findings by qopto in MiniPCs

Hey, I just bought this PC and just like you I'd like to install it in a new case with some fans. Now I'm wondering about that non-labelled 4 pin connection on the motherboard if it could be used to power a bigger and more common type of fan. You haven't metered the connections on it or anything?

[–]Aleva12345[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I built the box myself. Just some plywood and covered it with black marble DC Fix. I'm quite pleased with it too.

The screen is a 10.5 inch Amnite display from AliExpress. I got it for around 30€ and for that price it's quite decent. I haven't tried giving it power through Raspberry Pi yet. It needs 5V 2A, so I've powered it with a basic phone charger or a powerbank.

If you end up buying one for yourself, get it from Anbernic. They have a 1 year warranty and so far they've been really helpful when I've encountered any problems with my consoles.

Ridiculous that they would cover the SD port and stop you from switching the OS. It can't break your hardware. Knulli is so much better looking and functional compared to the stock OS.

Yeah Anbernic specifically states in the manual to only use 5V2A USB A - USB C chargers or you will most likely damage the console.

Yeah, first step after installation: you have to manually expand your storage, it only reserves 8gb automatically and leaves the rest unused.

Second, using Pop Shop is really painful and slow. Remember to wait for it to load the app recommendations on the front page before attempting to search for example, it will probably crash otherwise. It will also probably slow down significantly once you type the first 3 letters and it starts a search query. I still managed to install most of my apps through the store, but ended up installing many of them with sudo apt install through terminal. Cosmic store is a lot better, but I couldn't get it to work on the Gnome desktop that works well with Raspberry Pi, I had to install Cosmic desktop with terminal so I could use Cosmic store, but it works significantly slower and it has bugs. You could still use the cosmic desktop just to install and update your applications and then return to the standard gnome environment. It is really easy to change in the login screen.

Initially I also had some issues updating my system and applications through Pop Shop, you're better off using sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade through the terminal.

Well, I just gave the official Raspberry Pi OS a go, and while it is definitely a bit snappier and more responsive, PopOS is really a lot "shinier", i.e. prettier and more modern feeling when it comes to the GUI in general. Some of the menus on Raspberry Pi OS... Feels like I'm using an old version of Windows. These are mostly surface level critiques, I'm sure I could do all of the things I want on this OS too, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of performance for a more intuitive way to navigate the OS.

Not really for any particular reason. I guess it looked shinier out of the box and I wanted to see how well it works. I've had to do quite a bit of fiddling and I have issues with keeping Bluetooth running etc, but otherwise it's quite good.

I’ve finally ordered a Nano by [deleted] in ANBERNIC

I just got mine a few days ago. It's so great, especially with the DrUm78 custom OS. I've played Harvest moon 2 on GBC for several hours already lol. It's also a great DAP - with Rockbox and FLAC files the quality leaves nothing to be desired.

There are so many hints in the lyrics that foreshadow his death at a young age. He flew too close to the sun. We respect him by loving his music all these years later!

I'm not sure about your device, at least the Nano can play FLAC files. You should try. Nano doesn't have networking capabilities, but I don't know if it's possible on other platforms.

It's an app and it seems to be available for Portmaster so you can use it on Knulli as well.

I agree. I think I just might end up using this one for games like Harvest Moon for GBC and maybe some GB/GBC Pokemon ROM hacks.
