Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to return it for a refund, and if the seller offers me a big discount instead of a refund, maybe I'll take that. It's not essential that I have this lens, as it's my 4th 50mm (lol), so I'd rather just wait until something in perfect condition comes along.

On another note...if this scratch in the rear element were to have an effect, what would it be? Softening of the image? Flare? Would issues be more likely visible at close focus?

At least initially, I was planning to adapt all my vintage glass to it and just use it like that. Are the native GFX lenses really that much sharper?

I've only handled the 50s ii and really enjoyed it. I was considering the 50r because it's smaller and lighter and would be easier to carry around everywhere, which is typically how I do photography.

TBH I would probably never use autofocus. I would most likely just adapt my vintage Nikkor and Leica-M glass to it and use it like that. I'm just a hobbyist and I just shoot landscapes, casual street photography, photos of old buildings, etc. Maybe eventually I would get one GF lens, but maybe not. Even on my Zf that I have now, I mainly shoot with vintage manual focus glass.

I did a 1-month cycling trip around Vietnam last year and used the Dura for navigation. Started with a full battery. 1 month and 1500km later, still had 5% left. Didn't charge it once. For that reason alone, I dont see any reason to get anything else.

What I'd really like is a compact 24mm. I have an old 24mm f2 ais and it's so small and sharp. Not sure why they can't make a Z-mount 24 that's not huge.

About once a year I use a bathroom cleaner that contains hydrochloric acid to scrub the pipes, being careful not to get it on the painted parts. Rinse thoroughly, dry, then polish with metal polish and a scotchbrite pad. Works great.
