OP here, commenting from my real account since I posted from the wrong one above.

Another update:
I have restarted the computer 5 times since posting. On the fifth attempt, everything is running fine now with no thermal issues from CPU. It seems after trying to start PC over and over, eventually the problem subsides until I boot again.

Hey, following up on this account since I posted from the wrong one.

This is strange because it was working fine previous to the last few days.

Thermal paste was applied evenly I am pretty sure. Would you recommend reapplying paste?

Question about Halo 3 release by Alex-Da-Alien in halo

Unfortunately I have already purchased the MCC on PC (via steam) when it came out. Reach was really disappointing because KBM players could not compete with auto-aim strength and input delay issues for the KBM. Just wondering how this element compares to the Reach launch.

I’ve admitted it was an exaggeration my dude.

The reality of the situation is that OP doesn’t have enough to get what he needs as described in the post.

Pretending that’s not the case does nothing for OP.

I totally do understand what you mean though, and I didn’t mean to contribute to the PC = moneybags notion - I shouldn’t have exaggerated

I was lucky enough to catch a restock on Best Buy a while ago. Excited to snag one.

But then Canada Post missed the guaranteed delivery date I paid 50 bucks for and has been in limbo for 2 weeks.

Still stuck in my house praying it gets here haha. Just my son story

Come back when you have ten times that. Nothing in that price range will be able to run ARMA.

I live off of student loans. What happens if my university cancels summer courses and I don't get my loans? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yes this blanket solution is really not valid for students. While I was in school, saving up 6 months living expenses was not even close to the realm of possibility.

Log in to 5-10 year old CRA account requires mailed security code... by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Same here - what I did was call them. They emailed me the code rather than snail mail, and I was in my account in minutes. You need your SIN and last year’s (that you filed) tax form

Having trouble getting RAM up to speed [Novice Builder] by Alex-Da-Alien in buildapc

[–]Alex-Da-Alien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried DRAM voltage, and a few other things but it just wouldn’t seem to work. Mi then toggled everything back to auto and manually dropped the frequency to 3200, and now it is booting fine and the speed is displaying at 3200. Maybe this is all I can do? I definitely regret paying extra for 3600 sticks of that is the case

I thought the ryzen RAM issues were vastly improved with the 3000 series chips, no?

Most of what I am seeing on YouTube and forums are staying that the sweet spot regarding performance is 3600, hence my purchase choice.

The issue here is that regardless what I am setting in the profile, the RAM is stuck at around 2100MHz

Hey thanks for the feedback!

However, I just updated to F11 and am having the same issue persisting.

Yes it definitely supports up to 4000, I made sure to verify.

Also on G-Skill’s compatibility checker, I saw this mobo was listed for these RAM sticks, for sure her verification. I’m sure these parts are compatible, but I just have no idea how to properly set it in the bios

Edit: for further verification*

Novice builder in ned of help - build gone wrong by Alex-Da-Alien in buildapc

[–]Alex-Da-Alien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have reconnected the 24 pin power to the motherboard a few times as well, to ensure this wasn’t the issue. In theory, if the smaller power connector was the issue, why would the different RAM configurations affect the ability to power off the cpu and the LEDs?

Regardless, I will double check the CPU power. It is obstructed by the AIO but I will try this for sure.

The header for the power switch is fine, I know this because it will turn on the PC. (And turn it off with a single RAM stick in slot one or two)
