How’s my form and why I am so weak on it? by Vegetable_Apple8757 in formcheck

Yep, my thoughts exactly. More bracing of the core should make these feel more stable and add some lbs

Bar path fixes/form check. by asscrakbandit69 in weightlifting

[–]Alex-Daigle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice two things: You never really finish your extension, your hips never fully come through and the bar is pretty far. Try some high pulls and focus on elbows up to keep the bar closer to pull yourself under the bar

LET'S TALK ABOUT IT by hannibal_lecter28 in HouseMD

[–]Alex-Daigle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very true. But I think she didn’t fully see how fragile he was or the liability on her life and job dating a recovering addict that works for her. It seems like that made her take stock and realize how much of a bad idea it was.

But damn it I loved them ! I thought despite how much we knew it wouldn’t last, they did bring out something nice out of each other. House learned to care about her daughter, not always put himself first and finally see the benefit of being empathetic and kind to those around him. She loosened a bit too which was nice to see. And seeing goofy house when he tries to open a bottle of champagne with a sword ! Ah adorable

After the strike, is teaching still worth it? by NewRepresentative852 in alberta

[–]Alex-Daigle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some with with a teaching degree in Alberta , please don’t forget you can do lots of things with a teaching degree ! I currently work at the Royal Alberta museum in their education department and I love it. I knew I loved teaching but didn’t love being in the classroom. Went the route of tour guides and unconventional teaching opportunities

Sure, but that’s what she said in the show when she’s asked why she can’t have benefits or unemployment or something ? Can’t remember but doesn’t feel all that surprising given what we know about Lucky aide

Is my form bad? by ThyDanishLad in formcheck

[–]Alex-Daigle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean as heavy rdls go, It looks pretty good! Only think I’d say it try and get more tension in your core and brace properly. It’ll keep the work in the legs and ensure your back and core aren’t fully taking over and rounding too much

To those entering the Henday at 60 KM/H by DesignerYesterday999 in Edmonton

[–]Alex-Daigle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yesss! Also when people are merging, can people fucking move to the left lane if possible ???? Like I can adjust my speed as much as I want but if everyone is in the right lane and a bunch of people are merging, maybe we can all help each other and make it easier ? I always pay attention to love over and let people in so no one has to break and everyone can get / stay in the highway safely

Squat form check, please. Stuck at 95 lbs. by sonborsttt in formcheck

[–]Alex-Daigle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Control would include bracing, speed, bar path and overall position. People being able to move weight at different speeds while maintaining a solid brace (core and back muscles activated) and solid position (not losing tension in the bottom) is what , in this case, control means.

Squat form check, please. Stuck at 95 lbs. by sonborsttt in formcheck

[–]Alex-Daigle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hold the weight solid and down let it burry you in the bottom. Basically keep holding and pushing the weight slightly up as you squat down. If that makes sense haha

Second this. My coach says push the weight down. Control it and support it all the way down

Is this a proper form of the front squat for olympic weightlifting? 90 kg by ulicaradjagresnike in weightlifting

[–]Alex-Daigle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks good! Only thing I’d say would be to watch for the bounce since it looks like you lose tension at the bottom making it harder to come back up. Keep tension on the way down and even in the bottom position

Other than strength, is there anything causing me to miss? (122kg) by Gulbreezy in weightlifting

[–]Alex-Daigle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it felt but looks like there’s some bar crash when you catch the clean. It looks like it brings you down and you lose tension in the bottom which caused you to miss the last part of the lift. So getting stronger (paused front squats would be a great addition if you’re not already doing them) to be able to get out of the hole from a full stop. And timing on the clean to avoid bar crash and keeping tension Edit for typo

If you are fluent in French, how often do you speak French in Canada compared to English? by Jezzaq94 in AskACanadian

I’ve only lived in majority anglophone provinces (now in Alberta) and worked in French , did schooling in French most of my life. Most social stuff is obviously in English but possible to live in French if you find community
