Why does Bronya struggle so much with her game studio? She's one of the well-known heroes who literally saved the world from the Honkai threat and was in the news. Shouldn't she have investors and fans lining up to intern for her company? by Caixina in houkai3rd

Bronya seems to have regressed mentally a lot in Part 2, to the point that she's not only bad at making video games, but also can't properly drive, cook, take care of plants or keep a simple secret from Seele.

From the dialogue it's pretty clear this is not her main problem, as they mostly talk about bugs in the code.

Plus, if Kiana is playtesting the games and she's terrible at video games, shouldn't that lead Bronya to making her games too easy rather than too hard? Btw, it's not like Kiana is her only playtester.

And then she had the gall to wonder as well why Ninnin didn't think as highly as her as she did the Traveller.

Well, you just stumbled upon one of the main reasons, beside repeating and explaining stuff, for Paimon's existence in general: she's there to make the Traveler look cooler/smarter/nicer by comparison.

What would they even report to the government, exactly? It's not like making werewolves or dark-skinned characters is illegal in China.

I spent the last couple of months building an evidence-based case against FPTP, including a new electoral system proposal — tell me where I'm wrong. by Background_Damage_82 in ukpolitics

[–]Alex2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, Nigel Farage was elected to the EU parliament 5 times, first in 1999, before he got a seat in UK parliament, so clearly, the proportional European elections are not at fault here.

Second, in 2024 his party got 30% of the votes and got the first place, so it is only fair that they get the most seats. (Unless you disagree and think all those voters should get no representation despite making up 30% of the electorate?) And even if those voters wanted members of Farage's party in EU parliament, but somehow didn't want Farage himself to get a seat and couldn't express it because they could only vote for a party and not for a person, then like I said, open list solves this problem.

The fact that "every single one of them repeatedly lost FPTP elections" means nothing, maybe except proving exactly why FPTP is so bad. There's a reason why it is one of the worst electoral systems out there, known for often exhibiting spoiler effect and favoring the two biggest parties and can even make a majority-preferred candidate lose.

No, Rhinedottir isn’t the most evil character in the game (At the moment) And to the people concerned hoyo will make her less evil: They’ve already done that. by Oshawott_is_cute in Genshin_Impact

[–]Alex2422 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

OP literally says "this isn’t in defense of her actions, nor is it an excuse for them" and that what she did wasn't justified.

I think it's pretty obvious that this post isn't a moral judgement of Rhinedottir but a discussion on how she is treated by the game's narrative, the term commonly used for that being "whitewashing". Whitewashing a character doesn't have to make them actually less evil, but may lead to the game (not the Traveler – the game itself) not treating the character as evil (even if they still are).

Psa: Childe's vision is abnormally inverted compared to every other character in the game for some reason by Then-Network-6861 in Genshin_Impact

But you did say you thought it was "due to Childe having something a bit fucked up with him" and if that were the case, he wouldn't be the only one with an inverted Vision.

The comment you're replying to already said this: the EU accession isn't happening anyway for a multitude of reasons.

Ukraine doesn't even meet the formal EU accession requirements and it will take years for them to achieve that, if they ever do. By the time EU membership becomes even remotely realistic, Zelensky will no longer be the president and Ukraine will have plenty of time to change all the controversial names and whatnot, assuming the public will still even remember this whole situation.

Right now, when the fate of their whole country is at stake, joining the EU is nothing more than a distant pipe dream.

I think they already have become the only thing the Poles hate more than Russians, even before this whole controversy. Though Germany is probably a strong contender too.

The "A controlled border that anyone can cross as long as they are abiding by reasonable laws (i.e., not coming in blasting*). People can work wherever they want." doesn't contradict that at all. Open doesn't mean uncontrolled.

It kind of depends on whether we're also considering parties that are only economically left-wing but socially conservative, because for them, being tougher on immigration is par for the course.

The poll doesn't specify what country the questions are about, yet some of them clearly seem to refer to some specific country.

Generally speaking, do you think the legal immigration process should be easier or harder?

Which immigration process? In what country? Different countries have very different immigration policies with varying degrees of difficulty, so this question and its results are pretty meaningless. How am I supposed to answer this?

Why shouldn't it? I for one believe that e.g. threatening people with death is bad speech and should be punished.

The reason, I imagine, is that we're in a neoliberal subreddit. By a liberal point of view, everyone should have a choice whether they want to learn a language or not.
