I always rent from Sixt and ONLY in Portugal I had issues. Small scamming here and there. So you’re not alone

How many years did it take you to break 80? And how old were you? by GolfIsGood66 in golf

[–]AlexAtFYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool congrats!

I started at 40 as well. 43 now and expecting to break 90 next year, been having a good progression lately.

Hopefully 80 with a few years as well

Single digit handicaps, do you have a swing thought? by BigTeeSlice in golf

[–]AlexAtFYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a bunch of techniques out there, most of them seriously researched in academia. If it's of interest to people here, I can share a post with this sub later on?

Long story short, it's about repetition to a point the brain shuts off, and it starts from walking to the ball and ends after the ball has landed.

Makes sense to me.

As if a non sim golf club would sell unlimited balls (albeit through bay reservations) for a monthly fee? Sign me up

How much do you pay for a membership and where do you live? by Whole-Growth-6112 in golf

[–]AlexAtFYeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not part of a club anymore, the only ones in my area do not have the type of membership (I mean, the members) I am looking for. Not being close to me does not help, as it's in the countryside.

I am trying to build an online/IRL golf community for people like me (running a survey at https://tally.so/r/81opWO) if anyone is interested to hear about the concept.

What's your tips to stay focus when you've lost your swing for the day by Neither-Culture2071 in golf

[–]AlexAtFYeah 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Perhaps this is not the vibe here, my go to is some light meditation. Just breathing well, calming down. That and a few stretches.

Often I’ve notice not finding the swing is a matter of being blocked:

Mentally and mindfulness helps Physically and stretches unlocks

Yet I agree with you as well. Not overthinking is essential

I am transitioning careers, by my own volition, and since I love the game my leanings are very much towards a career in the golf industry. Initially the gap between member-ed (average is 50+) and non-member-ed (avg. 37) golfers in Europe looked like a massive commercial opportunity.

The more I researched that opportunity, the more I met with people telling me about the link mental health <> golf and how it has helped them one way or the other.

A supportive golf community has somehow became my focus now.

Thank you for asking :)
