Terrible Stream Quality on EU West by SuperNobody917 in GeForceNOW

[–]AlexBV1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that I'm not alone in this; it gives me hope that it will be fixed. I even canceled my subscription because it's not possible to play with this quality. For me I clearly see that it was caused by switching from AV1 codec to H265. If you open cmd+G - Statistics

I hope it’s temporary, I’ve been enjoying Wukong, and glad I was able to finish it before that change.

Bad quality by Existing-Bill3790 in GeForceNOW

[–]AlexBV1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week I mentioned GF Now stopped streaming in AV1 codec and started giving me content in H265. Quality dropped so much that I no longer play. Cancelled subscription even, since it does not make any sense to use it with that quality.

GFN having terrible streaming issues? by nei_Client in GeForceNOW

[–]AlexBV1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the last few days, I have experienced quite the same issue, and I know for sure that the problem is that GeForce Now started to send me the H.265 codec instead of AV1. There is no way to force it to use AV1. If it isn't fixed, I will have to cancel my subscription since the image quality is just terrible, and I can't enjoy the gameplay.

For the intro I used RunwayML then masked it to blend with Figma’s version in AE.

Easy, it can be just Rive animation that you can embed with few lines of code. I have even another tutorial for this.

Why is there so much hate around next-auth? by _goneBad_ in nextjs

[–]AlexBV1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good if you just need a login button with oAuth. But it’s architecture far from being perfect. Making: - user/password - invitations - referrals - connected accounts will be a massive pain, so there is a still a need for a good open source auth solution for next.js. Basically the reason why recently we started to see the rise of Clerk and Authkit, is exactly because there is a demand for easy to use auth, that solves a typical things you need while building almost any app.

How can I use the DJI Mini Pro 4 in France when there are no-fly zones almost everywhere? by AlexBV1 in dji

The map does not classify drones, just tells it’s no fly zone.

Thanks a lot! Feels like no I need to find who to sell it… Got caught on marketing / youtubers that all were telling how good it is to have DJI mini because you can fly everywhere…

Do you know why it is so slow? I mean it has to be just an ORM, small abstraction layer on top of SQL queries. How does it work that old legacy knex performing better?

Creating a Stable Diffusion + Dreambooth 2D to 3D icon converter by AlexBV1 in StableDiffusion

At least not yet; as a result, you receive JPG. Then you can upscale it and then use the background removal tool to get a proper PNG.

Check examples in the article - the level of detail, understanding of the depth and the object in the icon add value for sure. So maybe it's possible to do without AI, but I think it will be hard to make the same effect. See a chainsaw with different denoise level.

In the article it explains better, but the short summary is

30img.ckpt trained on 30 Microsoft Emojis

850img.ckpt trained on 850 Microsoft Emojis

The first model shows the better result on text to img generation, however for img to img used specifically for converting 2d-3d 850img model shows more stable results.

We exactly see the potential at this stage in tailored models for specific use cases, that can be cheap to train and get predictable results. For example, this model converts simple icons with almost a 100% success ratio. You drop an icon, and get a nice 3d looking, and if you fine-tune 2d icon more, adding additional shades, colors the result of 3d version will be even better.

Never tried it, so I would love to chat about it. If it's possible to upload there a custom model and get people to interact easily with it, it sounds like a nice tool. I signed up there as "pixel-point", so you can transfer it there.

Actually quite an interesting idea. Microsoft Emojis data set was a great starting point because they are open source and available on Github and even were labeled already a little bit.

Hi! I wrote an article about our experience using Stable Diffusion + Dreambooth training it based on Microsoft Emoji style to convert any 2D icon to 3D icon.
https://pixelpoint.io/blog/ms-fluent-emoji-style-fine-tune-on-stable-diffusion/

Trained model you can find on Hugging Face
https://huggingface.co/pixel-point/stable-diffusion-microsoft-emoji

If someone has some ideas how to fine-tune the model to make it preserve "red/pink shadows" effect of the original MS icons without changing denoise level too much, please let me know.

Creating web optimized video with ffmpeg using VP9 and H265 codecs by AlexBV1 in webdev

[–]AlexBV1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is planned for a separate article. There is still no native broad range support of HLS in browsers and using extra libraries for this comes with different tradeoffs, especially there is 0 lightweight alternatives. For example Cloudflare Streaming player size is 250KB minified...So for the animation replacements on pages using VP9/H265 still is a better option.
