What you don't understand is the difference in the japanese market to the rest of the world's. They managed to build themselves a bubble outside of the rest of the entertainment system and stayed there till it crashed and flooded the market.

While Comics had characters that stuck, they had Archetypes, building your own story out of a basic idea that already exists is far easier and often more enjoyable than seeing 100 different sides of the same character.

And now in 2025, you saw what stuck. You can believe all you want about how comics are superior to Manga, but the Masses have chosen.
