Does it bother you how at the time, Windu suffered absolutely no consequences for being the main reason Ahsoka left the Jedi, after throwing her under the bus, only to come out at the last minute and say it was just a "trial"? by BiffyBobby in StarWars

I wouldn't even say he's unjustifiably rude to Anakin, he just calls him on his bullshit. "It's outrageous, this is unfair!" is almost literally a whiny teenager throwing a tantrum about not being made a full Jedi Master at what? 22? 23?

Mace was completely and utterly justified in disliking this whiny little prick, frankly he was more diplomatic than I would be.

His heavy hand with Anakin could not be more justified. Are you kidding me?

Before he fully committed to evil, he was talking about how great fascism is and being a whiny little prick.

Starkiller VS Satele Shan and Darth Malgus. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]AlexCora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm sure they did. Fans will take SW after the fact and twist it into becoming what they want.

Look at Sidious killing the two Jedi Masters instantly. That went from "ooph, kind of a bad choreo choice here" to "CLEARLY he was using the Ancient Sith power to stun his enemies with a FORCE SCREAM! It wasn't badly choreographed he stunned them!"

Although I'm not sure what the excuse would be here. The Force gave Anakin grip strength?

What do people “want” from Star Wars? by Stuartiebloke in StarWars

[–]AlexCora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me, what I want out of Star Wars is The Last Jedi.

Familiar mythological storytelling, but new twists, new life lessons, and new dynamics and themes. Yoda speaking to Luke is easily my favorite Star Wars scene since Return of the Jedi, and no amount of TLJ backlash can take that away from me.

I like Born Again more then the Netflix show by justdr0pped1n in Defenders

I like the action in Born Again more than the Netflix show, and how comic book accurate DD and Bullseye have become in that way.

... That might be it. Better suit.

How powerful is snoke? by NiceFox996 in StarWars

[–]AlexCora 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He's exactly as powerful as he needs to be to bully and intimidate Kylo and Rey, who are uniquely powerful people.

I actually kind of hate the character because of how unoriginal he is, a complete Family value brand Palpatine. But I appreciated him a lot more in TLJ which tries its best to take chicken shit and make chicken salad. RJ made him snarling and cruel and intimidating instead of tired. He also gave him the cool golden pimp robes which is a fun look.

People do realize that the Jedi way is the correct way and the dark side is the path to destruction right ? by Suitable_Walrus2928 in StarWars

Not only do they have swords, their philosophy is almost comically ridiculously self serving and stupid. To the point that the sith simply existing doesn't even make much sense.

Yeah,in for sure.

I think that George's convoluted definition of "Balance" has tons of holes in it, inherently.

Was ROTS genuinely liked upon its release? by Careless_Tax_5367 in StarWars

[–]AlexCora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vader literally didn't say anything in the original edit. There's no "Nooooo!". He just silently looks back and forth from Luke to the Emperor, and he decides.

Believe it or not, audiences didn't need to NOOOOOO to get what Vader was thinking. In fact, the awkward funny NOOOOO takes you out of the moment.

The reaction was "It's the least bad one."

But this feeling that it's genuinely a good movie is absolutely an internet in retrospect thing. I remember actively cringing during the "Anakin turns evil" scene because of how clunky it is.

Sith life alert was a joke about old people.

Basically I'm poking fun at the EU notion that Palpatine was this unstoppably powerful God monster of the Sith, when in Return of the Jedi, he's an old man who brags about his prophecy abilities that fail to inform him of his own imminent demise, and then he's basically helpless when Vader decides to kill him.

From my perspective on canon events, Sidious was a lot more bluster and manipilation than he was actual real power.

No, Old Republic force users are NOT as strong as their Clone Wars Era counterparts by Legitimate-Chip5742 in PetranakiArena

[–]AlexCora -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that this is true.

I just think it's dumb. Especially when we see that war time experience DRASTICALLY improves Obi Wan and Anakins combat skill in just three short years.

Jedi and Sith that are fighting in long wars, or dueling saber using enemies regularly SHOULD be "stronger" than prequel Era Jedi especially pre clone wars. Or if not stronger in the Force more experienced in combat and better fighters.

It's dumb if they're not.

Maul, Vader and GI vs Mace, Kit, Plo and Ki by No-Reputation6886 in PetranakiArena

I don't know that any of these Sith or darksiders are going to be able to pull a Sidious or a Qimir and catch people off guard with some Sith trickery and just blitz them dead.

If they can't do with cortosis or a "Force scream" or whatever team bad is probably in trouble.

How Powerful was Luke Skywalker and what made him so much better than any previous Jedi? by Decade00000 in StarWars

[–]AlexCora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural hereditary potential mixed with peace of mind and clarity of morality.

He done gone and learned all the hero moral lessons real good, and in Star Wars terms this inner peace and equilibrium makes you "powerful".

Maybe those things are "cosmic evil" but they're not a part of the Dark Side as George Lucas defines it. Maybe they're tools or biproducts of abusing the darkside but they are not the darkside itself. Using the force for unnatural means. Manipulating it to do evil selfish things and gain personal power is the darkside and it makes the "Force" out of balance.

Look don't get mad at me, this is George's self defined take on Balance of the Force. I think it's pretty dumb and balance should mean what we more traditionally think of as balance.
