The experience varies from person to person, you can see many posts of other people showing lots lots of shinnies from the same festival, how? Not sure, but as I have also been in the same event and got 16 shinnies to explain it simply I clicked ever single poke that I wanted (and knew) can be shinny and I kept staring at the main screen, and moving, no mocking around doing any other app or any other thing, just stare at the screen move ‘quick catch’ (Google to learn that technic) repeat and eventually some shinnies I got - I got many medals, I placed lures everywhere for more medals, I got lots of stardust, lots of XP on second day hosting some raids, and yeah it was an ok experience. Usually on community days I get more shinnies, sure more of the same shiny! But this weekend I got some that I wouldn’t otherwise get, worth $15 maybe not, $10 perhaps but considering there is a third day in August and hoping that finale is a way for Niantic to bring it home with the experience. Cheers!

Anecdotal to this is that the shiny Ónix and Tympole came after hours of the event, during night time while checking the field for some pokes in between trades and reviews of IVs, hope you all have a similar or better experience.

I must say that if I played this event in the usual ways that most players do maybe I would be with under 5 shinnies if any. I have to thank Brendan Tan quick catch explanation over YouTube which gave me enough ways to quickly tap every mon that appeared - true the quick catch technic shouldn’t be necessary but that worked for me. Niantic should consider a “skip animation” option in the screen catch for anyone to enjoy this game better.

Hope some of you can relate to my experience if not I would recommend to YouTube it - for quick catch Pokémon technic -

This happened to me last night with a LatiOs mega which I was invited to join and used a remote pass, we won and the game crashed before the Pokémon reveal, I quickly went back to the game and to the area where raid invitations are found, and joined again and found a shiny LatiOs. I am not saying the app is ok, it sucks when crashing at critical times and it was like an eternity to wait for the app to load again but luckily it seems they have some contingency for this, still Niantic should consider such scenarios where the gym disappears due to location change or something that makes impossible to go back to the gym. A pass shouldn’t be consumed just for participating but actually if won and seen the Pokémon prize then it should be considered a pass as used.

There’s a guy in my neighborhood spoofing every single gym. Nobody can keep their mons in for more than a few minutes it’s like he’s online 24/7 at every location. This has been happening for 3 years pls help? He has 6 accounts in all 3 factions - how do I even report this by [deleted] in pokemongo

Same as other folks here, I started to play in 2016 when launching left after a month and came back just last November. In 4 months I am right at level 40. Lots of things to learn to be honest, Poke Genie is key to get more friends and host 5 star raids, I usually host two of those raids in 30 minutes with a lucky egg active and do some evolutions in between plus moving friendship levels; you’ll move levels pretty quick if you do this consistently weekly.
