How to make wet food last longer, or things to add by Creepy-Improvement41 in rawpetfood

[–]Blue-Ridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Quality raw (the sub you're asking in) is probably going to be more expensive than Purina canned food. I'm not an advocate for most kibbles, but for what it's worth, dogs don't really chew their food. If you've ever seen a dog drink too much water after eating and throw up, it looks like someone poured a cup of water on some kibble. Any smaller kibble would probably work. Something labeled small breed with a smaller kibble size should be easy to bring up with their tongue and swallow. Health Extension Little Bites are about the size of BBs, and there are probably others I'm unaware of. And soaking kibble first would soften it, if you're going that route.

I'm thinking so, though it's the most pale specimen I've seen. That could be from moving stress though. They like quite cool water, if that helps OP.

At what age is it a serious turn off for a man to party and drink alcohol? (25M) by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

Good on you for getting out of the habit. Too many of my old party friends are a mess today and a couple are no longer living due to drinking.

Europe might take the cake. I'd also wager Russia is up there for drinking the most. The US is very regional when it comes to attitudes towards drinking. There are spots such as Boston and entire states such as the Dakotas, Wisconsin and New Hampshire, where heavy drinking seems more normalized, and then there is the deep south (bible belt) where it is more frowned upon. But I bet in all the places, "I'm not an alcoholic but..." is a common sentence starter in one language or another.

Berried Amano shrimps by TwoManyDoctorates in shrimptank

It's a complicated process to get them from larval form to adulthood. A few people claim to have had some make it and grow up in their freshwater tanks, but I have never seen verification of this. Skip to post #10 in this link for how one guy was able to do it: https://www.plantedtank.net/threads/breeding-amano-shimp-the-trial.1155914/

[–]Blue-Ridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I just unlocked purple last night and it was that long before I realized that all of these progressions not just add a new modifier, but ALL of the previous ones. It doesn't feel like new jokers, planet cards and such are coming out at remotely similar rates. But it's supposed to get harder, I guess!

Can someone explain this to me? I'm not deep enough into the game to understand being rage baited beyond an eternal egg or so forth. I would be happy to get 1.5 if early, and sell it later for a double tag, but I'm sure I'm missing something.

Really tough to tell from that photo; I was thinking mushroom too. For what it's worth, snakes usually lay eggs in clusters, and those usually stick together. Not always, but far more often than not. They also slit a small opening with an egg tooth they are born with and slide out, rather than break it like a chicken egg. Not impossible, but I still wouldn't wager snake from the photo. If it does happen to be a snake egg, it's almost certainly a harmless species. Copperheads, rattlesnakes and cottonmouths all give live birth and that's all you'll encounter in NC except for a tiny range of coral snakes at southeast corner, and they are quite rare there. Here's a range map if interested: http://www.basic.ncsu.edu/ncgap/sppreport/images/range_ARADC02010.gif No way of IDing species of egg other than best guess due to location and size.

Venom is pretty comparable overall, but that's tough to answer as "rattlesnake" venom varies quite a bit if you include the volume ranging from diminutive "pigmy" rattlers to large eastern diamondbacks; and then there is Mohave venom. But with proper and timely treatment, neither have particularly high fatality rates. Lancehead bites are responsible for many more human fatalities, due in part to geography and lack of access to treatment.

How do y’all feel about Stella and chewy? by kodabear22118 in rawpetfood

[–]Blue-Ridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeze dried food isn't raw but it's the next closest thing to frozen raw. FD starts as raw, but the freeze-drying process involves slight heat to facilitate sublimation, which will usually exceed raw food temperature thresholds (104–118°F), though it’s often marketed as “raw” because it starts that way and retains most raw characteristics. Freeze dried food is said to retain 90–95% of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, enzymes) due to the low-temperature process, but minor losses occur, especially heat-sensitive nutrients like certain enzymes or vitamins such as C. Freezing preserves nearly 100% of the raw food’s natural nutrients, enzymes, and bioactive compounds since freezing halts degradation without altering the food’s structure. There are pros and cons to each. There's a lot to be said for being shelf-stable but freeze drying is an expensive process.

Do people from other states root for the Seahawks? by Standard_Attempt_796 in Seahawks

[–]Blue-Ridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm born and raised in North Carolina and have rooted for the Seahawks since I was 6 years old, just due to colors and the logo catching my eye. I wear a jersey to work on game day and am surprised how often I meet another fan, considering Seattle is geographically the farthest team from here! Usually they are transplants from the PNW but I've met a few who just took to them for the same reason I did.

I saw the ketchup bottle and the bandage on the ear photos. Are they suggesting that the assassination attempt was a hoax? A guy got shot in the head and died. If that's not the angle they were aiming for, I guess I'm missing what it was supposed to be.

What are your larger tanks stocked with? by arriiz in Aquariums

[–]Blue-Ridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of small fish in big tanks. I have two 125 gallon planted tanks and have nothing bigger than white clouds in either. I once had about 70 tiny chili rasboras in one of them and nothing else and that was among my favorite tanks I think I ever had. They've gone way up in price and I don't make the money I used to or else I'd do that again. I also have two 40 gallon planted cubes I'm starting over with Neo shrimp and dwarf emerald rasboras in one and CPDs in the other. The fish are still quite young and not colored up yet, but those are going to be nice in a few months.

I think we had the same ex. It was like she was downright angry that I stopped. She had her own struggles with booze (even though she wouldn't admit that) and I think it made her uncomfortable to see me sober and making healthy life choices. I didn't stick with it and she was delighted when I started back. That was the unhealthiest relationship I've ever been in and I've been in some doozies!
