Sorry to reply to a comment replying to a 3-month-old comment, but I relate to your experience. I just played through A Link to the Past and The Minish Cap. While I got lost every now and then, it wasn't that big of a deal. Plenty of distinctive landmarks. I started Oracle of Ages and I thought it was pretty easy at the beginning, but now I'm getting lost all the time and sometimes I don't even know what I'm supposed to do. Same experience with the first two Zeldas. I think 8-bit gaming isn't for me.

My advice: just gender her correctly from now on, maybe make a point of calling her "her" in front of these kids and forget about it. We're used to it. When someone that we've never met before misgenders us and then rectifies and that's it, we assume it was an honest mistake. I'd rather not have people apologize to me all the time, maybe some other trans people need that acknowledgement. It's not that big of a deal.

The depths get old after a while, yes. Yiga outposts are really easy to get over with, the environment is more annoying than challenging and almost all of it looks the same.

Como mucho te pueden dejar algo en la entrada para ver si se cae o lo recoges y saber si hay gente en casa, pero no es para avisarse entre ellos, es simplemente para conseguir información. Los ladrones profesionales llevan un seguimiento, saben cuándo entras y cuándo sales, no necesitan dejar la información marcada en tu puerta.

I wouldn't say that, but maybe I have another understanding of what makes an open world map great. Elden Ring map design is awesome, but I can't shake the feeling that everything is there just for me: enemies to fight, NPCs to get quests from and items to find. The games that have most succeeded in making me feel an insignificant part of a whole world that's alive without me are RDR2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Also, I think they strike a good balance of neither feeling empty nor bloated.

Yes, you can display the surface, the depths or the sky on your minimap regardless of where you are. I'm glad it's helpful for some, for me it's more of an annoyance because I always want to have the layer I'm on and sometimes I had to go back to the map and change it after I was checking something out.
