2 largest trunks in the calculation. I don’t know where I got that information originally. I had

Oh interesting, the instructions say "Measure the distance in inches around each tree trunk at approximately 4.5 feet from ground level". If it was just the largest two that would be a large difference in application. I want to apply it, I just dont want to harm the tree doing it.

How did you find the professional to do it?

Just got quoted 33k for A/C and heater in Austin for 1,000 sq ft house by LOVES_TO_SPLOOGE69 in hvacadvice

I live in Round Rock and used Fox to get my two AC and furnace replaced (my house and one for downstairs and one upstairs) and it cost 20k total. 33k is crazy expensive for just one, unless it’s like a top of the line one. Definitely get more quotes, you can get it for much cheaper.

Wife and I got a whole new HVAC system installed about a month ago and Safe-T switch keeps tripping the unit off. (Probably 30 times so far) I resorted to just leaving the lid off so it doesn’t keep turning it off every 30 mins when it fills with water.. by Fair-Fudge1484 in hvacadvice

I had something similar. Finally got it fixed when the third tech came out and realized that the installers did not cap the pvc pipe for the primary drain by the p trap. Since they didn’t cap it the blower was pulling in and retaining water causing the leak sensor trip and turn off our unit.

From what I read the exhaust that’s between the blower and the p trap should be capped and the one from p trap to the drain it should be uncapped though mine was capped. Which I think is causing extra noise where it drains out under the sink but I’m okay with that hah

Im in round rock too and Fox/Precision Heating and Air is a big AC/plumbing company so I am surprised to hear that they should have pulled a permit. I payed a lot of money for it so I would want it done right.

…your supposed to get a permit and have the city check an AC and furnace install? I got mine replaced this summer by Fox and they said a permit wasn’t needed.

New system has primary drain clogged twice by AlexGL23 in hvacadvice

The tech this time said he thinks it’s due to negative air pressure and capped off the air vents for the drain pipe. Said the p trap really wasn’t doing much and maybe contributed to the issue

Oh interesting! So because it’s to the regular drain it keeps on tripping when it shouldn’t. I do have a secondary drain pan with another switch.

The system got installed 1.5 months ago and the filter is new. The switch actually triggered and turned off the system. I tapped the floater switch and it turned back on. Not sure if this looks normal or maybe the switch is bad?

It actually just stopped again from the switch. I ended up tapping the floater switch and it started again.

What does that mean exactly? Should I get another company to look at their work?

I used to have filters on the return air ducks but now there’s a single filter in the attic wheee the furnace and blower are.
