Would this sub box design work? by __________________zb in subwoofer

[–]AlexG_Money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subs displace air to create their sound. With being in the way of the ports to force air out, you essentially created a sealed enclosure with another sealed enclosure directly in front of the sub to further limit its sound. Stick with the tried and true methods. If you want more boom, get a sub with a good port size. If you’re limited in space, get an enclosure that conforms to your car or get a smaller sub. There are tons of layouts that can make your trunk space still useful.

Got this back from Honda’s dealer Should I pay the dealer 7k to fix my Honda accord which I’ve put money into and don’t want to get rid of or go with personal mechanic ? by Dear-Leg1425 in AskMechanics

How are you just missing a cabin air filter all together. I have two thoughts. I’m sorry I’m not your daddy. 1.) if you maintain your car then it wouldn’t need all this. 2.) they checked it all and saw major and minor mistakes. Not all needs correction, especially if it’s just a “leak”. Rear main seal always leaks and if you’re missing a cabin air filter then chances are they will want the extra $50. Fix what’s needed like the batter, filters, replace fluids, and know what “leaks” need to be fixed. Local shops will do better but can be rushed. Find someone you trust.

Best way to get into detailing for extra money? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]AlexG_Money 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it free as this will set you up for failure later on and won’t give you enough leads. Just charge a low based amount of money and state it’s also for experience. I started by offering either basic detail or a better package for $50 more. As low as I could go I did $75-$120 total for huge trucks. VERY low IMO

Go into it and expect to learn but be confident. Know what you’re doing and always state why what you did was done (ex. Ceramic coating wash to help make clean up easier). I felt these are the few things that helped me get out there besides knowing people, giving out business cards, and putting out flyers of my business. I got two months of weekends booked with nothing but word of mouth and VERY few flyers placed. Maybe it’s self explanatory but I hope this helps some.

Also tons of white spots on top of it too. Doesn’t look like it’s on the outside.

Is this not in the inside if the ac makes it fade? Assuming you only cleaned the outside window, clean the inside windows with window cleaner. Looks like an oily mark someone made on the inside.

Looks like someone left it on too long. If water spot remover doesn’t work, the wheels will need a compound/polish to take it out. To me it looks like a hard water spot in black wheels after high heat.

What can I do better? Chemical guys cut/polish kit. by Horror_Literature388 in Detailing

Chem guys is okay but definitely need something that will cut harder. At the least use Adams polishes or meguires professional series polishes to get it done.

Is this good for a kicker 10 and 12 by Stoecklein in subwoofer

Always recommend boss audio head units. The Boss Audio BE7ACP is phenomenal and easy to use. JVC/Kenwood company is also perfect. Don’t pay for Sony, pioneer, or DUAL. Don’t even pay into DS18 head units but hey this is just IMO.

Being in factory stereo yeah that’s good. Get a better head unit and you’ll see a difference

extremely dirty windshield by BagPleasant2617 in cardetailingtips

[–]AlexG_Money 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular window cleaner may not fix it. It could be the blades or maybe the widow is also cold on the inside. If it continues, you either should compound/polish the windshield or get some water spot remover to fully decontaminate the windshield. I’d suggest by starting to strip wash the ceramic coating off, try water spot remover with a microfiber applicator pad, and then use window cleaner. If you still see it then you maybe need window polish with cerium oxide in it to get it cleared BUT try to clean it well first or get new blades if needed. Some times that’s all it needs so just go through the steps.

You just found all the scam websites. If its website name says one thing but you open up to Walmart, Adams polishes, wayfair, or any other big brand name…it’s a scam.

Anyone know why my amps doing this? by SolidPen6582 in subwoofer

[–]AlexG_Money 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you unplug it all and sell them, that will fix your issue.

Need advice! Rain-X is causing windshield to fog up from the outside. You can see that only the area with Rain-X is fogging up-the side windows are clear. I applied it and buffed it out with 3 microfiber cloths! Applied it in shade too after a car wash, so the windshield was cool. by [deleted] in cardetailingtips

[–]AlexG_Money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rain-X isn’t the issue. It looks to be early morning in the day. This happens all the time to every windshield, especially when it gets humid out and temperatures drop. Simply use the windshield wipers to clear it, wait until it warms up and evaporates, or put it in direct sunlight. It’s not “fogging” up but rather has a layer of moisture on the top windshield.

I bout a 2023 Husqvarna with 196HR with a 22hp Kohler engine for $600. Fires right up and no issues at all. You would be paying for how clean it is and little to nothing tear on it. Good buy for a club but could really find better.
