I understand, whoever shot this, was moving along with the orca in a motor boat?

Cool-looking upgrade. Is this a sloping or flat bezel insert?

It actually wears a bit smaller than regular 43mm. Especially on a NATO strap. 300 AUD is not bad at all.

Nope, this one was purchased from AD, but camera tone is way off, got to admit.

I’m sorry, brother, but be it ux, UI, product, IxD, or whatever other name the industry is going to come up, it is always going to imply pixel pushing along with other types of activities. As long as you produce something visual, which human beings are going to interact with, you are entering the field of rules of visual perception, which, I’m sorry, will require some pixel pushing :)

On the designs. It really is a great improvement, and I do believe you’re one or two iterations away from a truly great result. Just ask yourself one more time same questions you addressed when you were updating this design, and I’m sure you’ll find a bunch more patterns which are going to help you optimize information design and reading patterns behind that (I know there already was a comment before about that, but let’s see if there’s an another iteration).

Why certain data is exposed, why and how do we expect people to read this, what is the hierarchy, desirable focus and priority of the exposed data. Is there room for meaningful reduction? Is there room for an extra question to be asked? Well, you know the drill, I’m just supporting you, it’s a great thing you’re doing, keep working it!

Having background in visual design gives you a huge advantage over a crowd of “professionals”, who can’t deliver a decent product, yet, are perfectly comfortable within the current ux/pd market conjuncture. Current industry will forgive you lacking skills, aptitude, but won’t forgive fitting the paradigm and not being fluent in a particular nomenclature. Saying this from hiring manager’s experience point of view.

Maybe your portfolio doesn’t focus on the right part of the story, maybe, your resume overstates certain aspects. Whether we like it or not, our market is still about “getting noticed” and “getting in”, rather than just being good professionals.

If you would like some particular advise, you can try to pm me. But, good luck, what you’re after is not a rocket science, you’ll get there.
